she's only 3 months old and since i got her a month ago, she tinkles in hercage and pooed in it. now, she won't poo in her cage and shewasn't peeing if i take her out right away. i know she's a chi which means she has a smaller than normal bladder and she's a puppy so its weak. but around how many months of age should i expect my chi, after good training, to be house broken where if i let her out she will let me know when she has to go instead of just making a lovely stain on the carpet?

and she won't stop! she and my older chi both have the same food; kibble and bits mini bites since they're small dogs. the cat has his food in a totally different room. yet even though she knows where her food is, when she's out she'll dart into where the cat's food is and stuff her face! is this normal??? and even though i AM trying to get her to eat HER food, is it okay is she sneaks the cats or will his food be bad for her in any way??

My puppy was spayed this last Saturday. They put the cone collar on her to keep her from licking or biting her stitches. Does this need to be worn until they're taken out or just until the incision scabs over? Stitches will be taking out on Monday. I'm wondering because it is so awkward for her to wear.

We have three boys 5, 7, and 9. We live in Florida so the dog will have plenty of water to play in. Our house is tile and wood so easy to clean up.

I constantly hear people saying "Pits kill" and "they will attack your children" or my favorite "they kill with no remorse". Come on people....educate yourself before you speak. The breed is not bred to kill humans. The breed was bred to fight true....but other dogs not people. They are actually very loyal to humans. The problem lies with people mixing APBTs with other breeds such as rotties or boxers. Not that these breeds are bad...they are not but, when you mix them sometime you can get some unstable animals. I have owned APBTs and have one now. I also have children. I have said before that I would never leave my children and my dog alone together but, it is not because of her breed, it is using common sense. Did you know that when these dogs are being fought, the owners would trade dogs and bathe them to insure there was no poison on the dogs. If these animals showed any aggression to people they were immediately destroyed. Please know what you are talking about before you speak.

My pug puppy passed away through the hours of the night from eating a posionious mushroom from our yard. We didn't know he had aten it, until it was too late. Please if you have "Posion Caps" in or near your yeard, keep a careful eye on your animals! I know it's hard to watch them every hour of every day, but just observational of the things your pets put in their mouth. I wish I would of known my Zeke was eating a mushrom, I could of gotten him to a vet quicker, but I didn't.

She's a chocolate lab. Three months old. She doesn't really like her dry dog food. What can I do to get her to eat it? Is an egg okay?

I have a 4 month Italian Greyhound 1/3 Chiuaua mix. He whines a lot. I was wondering if their is any Italian Greyhound owners who have this problem, and what they did to solve it. Also could you tell me more about this breed of dogs and how they do when they are an adult. Thank You Very Much.

One of my friends waited 2 days while her German Shepherd puppy had bloody diarrhea & then dumped it on me....I do not like dogs but I took him to the vet because I can't look at an animal suffering & my vet doesn't really charge that much......He had Parvo & they really didn't think he would live & he was so uncomfortable that I had him euthanized......Why don't people get their animals vaccinated or take them to the vet???
I'm really pissed right now....She makes A LOT more money than me, that pup did not deserve to die. :(

Sorry I really needed to vent.....

My dog does not hate the water, and has no problem crossing streams or running through low water.. He does not like baths.. I took my dog to a pond I used to swim in whenI was a kid. Me and my buddie jumped in for a dip as did his dog. My dog wanted to go in deep real bad but I can tell he was nerveous. I know dogs are born swimmers so I coaxed him.. Then I almost craped my pants when he staretd to swim like a person with his paws coming up and out of the water with each stroke.. We have a pool in our yard and he watches us swim from the deck.. Do you think he is imitating people swimming? He is of above inteligence for a dog. Is this possiable? I thought dogs just did the doggie paddle?
