Last night I took my dog for a walk at the Nature Trail at the State Park. I noticed on the way to the car that he had picked up two ticks. When we got home I removed them both (I made sure to get the head too) and gave him a bath. Could the ticks have still infected him? We went to store and bought some Frontline so he won't get ticks anymore.

My son freaks out if his pitbull snaps up a morsel of chocolate or cleans up a grape that has fallen on the kitchen floor. He says that either food could kill a dog. Is this true?

I'm trying to get my dog training business up and running and I'm still unsure what I should charge for training someone's dog. The schedule would likely be an hour a day 3 - 4 days a week for 3 - 4 weeks. Should I charge by the hour, week, or a flat rate. Some dogs will take longer than others and my schedule will fluctuate some (I do SAR work). I'm not doing this to get rich and want my clients to be satisfied with a well behaved dog. I'm not sure what a reasonable price to charge would be for someone who doesn't have a reputation built up yet but does have the skills.

What would you be willing to pay? Suggestions appreciated.

I've heard that White German Shepherds are especially fond of small game animals- birds, squirrels, etc. Would they be best for detecting the presence of snakes on your yard? I have had snakes on my yard because I live very close to a creek.

He salivates heavily, and even a short trip to a favorite place like the dog park can culminate in vomiting. I don't think it is motion sickness, because we've tried medication designed to help with that.
