I've known Poms to be very aggressive with children and bite.
Some of them are okay, but if it came to having them around my own children I wouldnt take a chance.

We got our dog (Black pom) 2 1/2 years ago. At the time our kids were 6 , 3 and 1. Some literature said they were not good with kids others said they were. Sophie has been wonderful. She is 5 pounds and like a sweet little teddy bear.
If the dog is raised around the kids and the kids are not allowed to mistreat her she should be fine. Sophie will go in the back yard with kids and follow them everywhere , she sleeps with the boys now ages 8 and 5, and she has never once bitten any of my kids.
However , when getting a pom you should realize they are easily injured especially the first year. Sophie was 12 ounces when we got her and she jumped off an ottoman onto carpet and broke her foot when she was 8 weeks old. So if your kids are rough housers or you doubt you can make them understand how gentle they must be and how they can not step or sit on her , you may want to get a little bit larger breed.

We had 2 Poms & they was fun but they require a lot of attention. The males tends to be a little on the bossy side. Although they are good dogs they need lots of attention so if you do get one be prepared to give the Poms lots of attention.

Poms can be good with kids. I have three poms and they have been with my grandchildren since my grandchildren were born. The girl dresses up one in doll clothes. I would advise to get one that is home raised and handled from birth. Also check out the Parents to see their temperament. As with any dog there are unruly ones. Choose your puppy carefully and train your kids with them.

I had a pom when I was young and didn't have any problems. They are a little high strung, and tend to nip when they are playing, but so long as you break them of that early there shouldn't be any problems. You just have to groom them once in awhile because their fur is long and tends to get knotty quickly. Most poms I've seen love kids and vice versa.

I would say yes, Poms are good with children, but it does depend on how they were raised. I suggest you get a puppy and start from scratch.
