Depends on what you mean by speed. Most of the large sighthounds are very fast on a straightaway. Whippets are faster when there are turns involved as they tend to be a bit more agile.
Some Sighthounds are sprinters and some long distance runners. Whippets will run very fast for short distances, the larger hounds are better at long distances.
No doubt about it, the sighthounds were bred for speed and are most definately the fastest. AND they do it with such elegance and grace!

The Saluki can run just as fast as the greyhound and for longer distances. They are somewhat smaller than the greyhound and some have longer fur.

i would have to say a grey hound. those dogs are realy fast they can run up to 45 mph!! hope this helps!
