Do you mean Italian Greyhounds (10 lbs or so)? They are not terribly expensive but be aware, they are popular with commercial breeders. Go to a breeder who shows or course to get a good puppy. They are also very busy dogs and very needy as well. WAY to busy for me!
Whippets (30 lbs)? I breed/show/course Whippets. They are usually pretty inexpensive. Almost all Whippet breeders would be considered 'good' breeders, it is not a popular breed. Whippets are generally very sensitive, affectionate, yet very naughty dogs. Puppies are exremely wild, as are IG puppies.
You should also know that sighthounds will kill little critters in your yard, so if you are squeemish about that that could be a problem. They are NEVER EVER to be trusted off lead, if they see something to chase they will be long gone and you will probably never see them again. Sighthounds are extremely smart, yet not real trainable (being bred to hunt independantly of us), a tricky combination. They will use their intelligence for bad and get into the most unbelievable things. They are also the sweetest most affectionate dogs there are and will expect to be on your furniture and in your bed.
If you go the each breeds national breed club (American Whippet club, American Italian Greyhound club) you will find information for breeders in your area. You can also go to a dog show or a coursing event (ASFA.org) to meet breeders in you area.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
BTW - if you approach a breeder with price being the first question, you are not likely to be received very well.

I assume you're talking about Italian Greyhounds? Not sure on the average price in your area, but your best bet would be to contact some breeders and get more info, Try this link to get started:

If you're talking about Whippets (which could also be considered a "Miniature Greyhound"), check this link:

Good luck!

depends on how small... I'ld guess about 10 lbs or 5 kilos
If you are referring to what is the cost of a miniture greyhound... that will depend on the breeder.

Italian greyhouds? Depends where you look but I don't think you'll be spending more than $1,000(most likely less).
