Are Pit Bulls really more dangerous than other breeds of dogs? I've heard that they are quicker to attack than most other breeds. I have a friend that is going to court next week for shooting and killing a neighbor's Pit Bull that mauled his 7 year old daughter. Is this the fault of the owner, or is this breed of dog just predisposed to this kind of behavior?

My dog has been sneezing ALOT, his nose almost drips clear fluid when he gets up, his breathing through his nose sounds a little squeeky, and instead of sniffinling, he more blows out of his nose, maybe to clear it. Can dogs have cold and/or allergies? Is it something to take him to the vet about?

He is a 10 month old un neutered Border Collie. We have put mussells on him which he has eaten, and notice that he only does it at night. Can someone suggest what may be causing him to do this and if so how it can be prevented. We don't want to get rid of him, but we are getting to the end of our tethers, as he is slowly destroying my house. Apart from this he is a well behaved and good temprement dog.

Today my parents are taking my dog and best friend for 15 years to the vet to be put to sleep. She is really old and has cancer growing all over inside her. The past couple of days she wont even get up to greet us or move if we come walking near her. Also she hasn't gone to the bathroom for the past couple of days. Are we doing the right thing? I had to go to work today and I probably just could not bear to see the vet do it. I feel so bad and beside myself becuase it has to be done but I cant bring myself to be there. I now have the feeling that I need to continue on and remember her. What should I do now? What is the best way to remember her and all of the fun we had and move on at the same time?

A Maltese dog is white, small (4-10 lbs), long straight fur and has a ponytail that is bent over(called a top-knot) over her forehead. I am not looking for a common name (Zoe or Sophie). Her temperment is playful and affectionate. Can you help?

I have a Golden that is terrible when it comes to grooming. He will let me clean his ears, and teeth, and will let me clip his nails. When is comes to brushing him he bites at the brush or my arm, and gets very hyper. I have tried several different grooming tools thinking that maybe some of the brushes were hurting him. I don't want him to get matted, and considered a professional grroomer but I am afraid that if he acts this way they will muzzle him. I don't want to traumatize him and make the experience worse.

I went on a trip yesterday with my 10 month old puppy in the car. It was obvious that he had to pee but when i took him out to go at a rest stop, he wouldnt go pee. He would just sniff around then look at me and repeat. It took nearly 30 minutes for him to pee and even then it was only becasue he couldnt hold it anymore. Ive also noticed that when we go on walks, he doesnt go potty eithier. No matter how long or far we walk, he always waits until i take him to the back yard. While I am still happy he is going outside, I dont want to run into a situation where I take him up on a trip and he wont go potty until he has an accident from holding it so long. So please, give me some suggestions!

I have 4mos. chocolate lab. At 3mos I got her second set. I cant remember when to get her next booster shot. I thought the vet said within the next three weeks we'll send you a card so you can bring her in and get her follow-up shots. It's 4wks since and I havent gotten a card yet. I called my mother and she said that she thought the puppy doesnt need another set till 6mos of age but she wasnt sure. (Making it 3months instead of 3wks) Does anyone know for sure? Just so you know I live in Texas, incase there are varying pet vaccinations within each state.

My dog is pretty smart. She can swim and save people when they're struggling to get out of the water. But now she just won't listen to me. My dad wants her to bark at strangers. That's all he asks. She's too friendly. For example: Strangers come by. She does nothing but jump on them and give big kisses. How do I train her to do that one little thing???

I have a 2 year old Beagle who is on the whole good on the lead, but when ever we take her in to town if we pass a butcher shop she cowers, pulls away, her tail is tight in under her and yeterday slipped her harness trying to get away. I would of thought most dogs would be trying to get in not get away. On our way in to town we had to pass 4 butchers and in the end it was easier to pick her up and carry her past them than trying to make her walk past.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why she does this?
Do you think she could be finding all the smells too much to cope with maybe?
Any ideas would be a help. Thanks.
