Well I'm definitely not an expert , but when my CAT was constipated the vet said to put a little mineral oil on his nose a couple of times...he will lick it off and will hopefully ease the constipation...Good Luck !

I would suggest going to a vet since your dog is not eating, but in the meantime you can try this for the constipation (which is likely the reason he won't eat):

First of all make sure the anal area is clean. The area could be "plugged" with feces. Just pull it out or use a warm washcloth to moisten it and clean the area thouroughly. If there is a lot of hair back there the feces may need to be cut out. You should always trim the hair around the anal area of longhaired dogs to prevent this.

If this doesn't apply you can try putting some Karo syrup (not regular table syrup) directly into the dog's mouth. Just hold the dog's mouth open and use an eye dropper. With a Bichon about one dropper full should do the trick. I have used Karo syrup with young puppies who were constipated (and also tried it with a baby squirrel) and it seemed to work. It will also give him a little energy, which he needs since he is not eating.

Good luck and hope everything turns out ok!

If your dog is pedegreed, and has a value more than your feelings for it, immediately call a vet. Home remedies are fine, but if your animal is suffering from a condition other than simple constipation, anything you do can possibly do more damage than good. Most cities have a 24/7 animal hospital or emergency room that you can call, and if they're nie, after you've explained IN DETAIL you r dog's history, they may suggest a home remedy that will ease the dogs discomfort. Try a can of tuna fish in oil, or fry some beef fat trimmings in a pan, and put them and the oil of a 1/2 cup of it's regular dry food. That get's my English Springer's butts working!

Enema. Go to the drug store & buy a infant enema. Be sure to lubricate the tip with mineral oil before inserting. Only use about 1/3 to 1/2 of the liquid. This is best done outside.

What are your dog's other symptoms? How long has it been since he moved his bowels? Is your dog dehydrated (pinch up a piece of skin between the ears if it returns to place slowly, he's dehydrated) ? Listless? Fever? Normal for a dog is 101 to 102. Vomiting? Drooling?

This can be a symptom of something serious. If your dog has any other symptoms, please find a vet now.

Definitely take your dog to the vet for an expert opinion. This could be an obstructed bowel... Very serious.

Constipation for a dog is serious. Take him to a vet. Worst possible thing could be a blockage.
