Hi... we got a yorkie... his name is Murphy... he's a bit different than the phu phu dogs that you know as a yorkie that the stars own... he is a bit bigger than they are. Even though he has papers, he is larger then most 8 lbs. The key is his personality... he is the most loving and easily trained and smart animal on the planet. Sensitive, loving, even compasionate... in that if you are acting like your down hes right up in your lap tring to make it better. My wife had a stroke to her spine and has a lot to deal with and they have become best of friends... great therapy... they are pricey... up to 3200.00 but are usually in the 900 to 1200 dollar range we paid 300 for "da Murph" His name came from the movie Murphy's romance cause he is he last love we will have in tis lifetime. I just kept a watch out for him on craigslist... go to their pets section. If you are near oregon I can give you the breeders name... she has another one just like "da Murph"

I think size would be the biggest consideration, it can be difficult having a chihuahua and a great dane at the same time. although, it may be better to get a young dog, as it would adapt to Pugsy quicker.
two males will fight, but only until dominance is established. once a dog figures out where it fits into the pack it's happy.

It's funny how things work, but, if you were to go to your local animal shelter, the just right dog, will choose you
Just like your 5 yr. old bulldog choose you.
Introducing a new animal into a household is always an emotional time for your already established pets. If you have a comfortable sized pen to house your new pet temporarily and if your careful to lavish most of your attention on your present animal in introducing them to your new adoptee your bulldog should except it's new companion.
I've had,and still do,more than a few animals at a time and generally, it's been my experience that unfixed males will, on occasion, fight for dominance or your attention. The same is true of females.
Male/ female combinations seem to work ok, but nothing works better than having them neutered for peace to reign.

If your dog now is a male DO NOT get another male they WILL fight and some will even kill the other dogs.
The best thing would be a spayed female of the same breed or a breed that has the same activitiy level as your dog now.
If you have a Great Dane and get a something really busy and hyper it would make the great dane nuts as they are laid back and sort of lazy dogs.
SO look at spayed females something like what you have now.

Go for a female, why not a bulldog too, so you will have babies...
My suggestion is Rotweiler and some thing close if you wnat 2 strong dogs. If you think that's bbecause Pugsy is massive that people don't appreciate her, go for a smaller one

I say give best answer to ThomNJo as that is spot on right. I felt sorry for my Springer Spaniel (Male 3 yrs, Max The Wonder Dog! and you have to have the exclamation on the end!) Everyone said get a female get one that's submissive, etc... Well I went to the "Pound at the Park" (every 1st Sunday in San Diego) fell in love with Duffy a Border Collie who had been abused, he was gorgeous and you could tell he was smart, so I ran home got Max, The Wonder Dog! and gave him the chance to pick... Well he picked Duffy, who's name we quickly changed to Buster and unfortunately 10 years later, I had to put Max, The Wonder Dog! down. But we still had his prodigy, the one he paw picked for us, I never thought I would love a dog as much as Max, but Buster has been with me through some really bad times and we are so co-dependent on each other, well it's no wonder I can't get a date! y

Two things: The first is you may need to seperate them for a while and treat them both equally where they can see that.
The second is bringing them together may have to happen when you are with them, so they understand you are happy being with both equally, especially if they behave.
However like humans no two dogs or breeds are ever the same so it can be slightly unpredictable.

all dogs are different your best bet is to find a dog you want and before gettine it introduce them and make your decision between them if they get along or not. and it is not true that if you get another male dog that they will fight all the time. you just dont want to get a alpha male dog because it will always be trying to be head of the house, which will cause the dogs to fight.

Do you have a dog park near you? I take my dog to the dog park often and it helps her socialize with other dogs. She also plays with the neighbors dog almost daily so she is use to other dogs. You might want to try exposing her to more dogs to see how your bully responds..
ps- you are so lucky to have found a bulldog at the pound. I have wanted one forever!

Yes, 2 males will fight over who is dominant unless you got them at the same time. Get a spayed female.
