Suddenly changing a dog's food will almost always give them diarrhea! You should have done it gradually, by mixing in a little of the new food with the old over a week's time.

If by "soft food" you mean those fake burger type foods - they are the WORST thing you can feed a dog. It will rot their teeth and can cause all kinds of other problems!

Try Nutro dry plus a little canned food. No by products, reasonable price, great food!

A dogs digestive system is very sensative, so you may have to do like the other people said, switch gradually. There is also a chance that she may have developed intestinal worms, especially if she's an outside dog. Look for ocular discharge...or in laymen's terms.....eye boogers. They're a telltale sign of intestinal worms such as whipworms, roundworms, and of course hookworms. So try the gradual switching first. If the diarrhea is starting to get a little bloody, then I'd suspect hookworms and take her to a vet. Best of luck.........

When you switch your dog you should do it gradually. about 1/4 of the new mixed with 3/4 of the old for about a week then increase to 1/2 and 1/2 for a week then 3/4 new and finally all new. Her digestive system is very sensative. Believe me.

Any changes made to a dogs diet should always be done gradually, over 4-7 days. This is what is causing the problem.
Next feed give her half of her original food mixed with half of the new stuff. Then gradually increase the amount of new and lessen the amount of original.

Anytime you make a quick switch of your dogs food you will get diarehea.
Give it a few days and stick to one food it will clear up.
You can give pepto bismol to your dog safely.
Dose for the weight of your pet like you would a child and gove only the one dose.
When you are going to change food you need to do it over a two week period slowly mixing it in with the old food and slowly to all new food. Otherwise you getthe diarehea thing.
Good luck.

If it continues ..Hold her feed for 24 hours..Cook some white rice and start her on that till she starts clearing up...slowly add her other food in with the rice a bit at the time *small meals often* Add less rice every feeding until she is on the new food..Good luck...If that doesnt work she may not be able to tolerate the new food :(

Dogs tend to get upset bellies when they get a new food. Stick with it they should be fine in a day or two. If it gets too bad your vet can give them a pill that can stop the diarrhea in its tracks so they don't dehydrate.
