well for one thing....you DON'T crop a shephards ears...

they will stand eventually. a little gentle massaging of the ears helps...but don't crunch the ears ...just use thumb and a finger to massage where the bend is and up to the tip....gently.

although some dogs have one or both ears that stay limp.
doesn't mean it's a bad dog or not a purebred.

Are you sure she is purebred? Do you have her registration papers?that's the only way you can be sure shes purebred. If she is 7 and 1/2 months they probably arnt going to come up any more than they are sorry. I don't think there is much you can do now maybe if she was younger, but i would talk to your vet or better talk to a shepherd breeder they might know some tricks that might help you. Good luck.

They need to be taped, and soon if you want them to be up as an adult. Contact a GSD breeder for advice on how to do it.

And glueing ears is not a big deal people, the dog doesn't mind! Jeez, get a clue!
And 7 1/2 months is not to young!
And people whom breed dogs are not breaders, they are breeders!

Steve - my pups go no sooner than 9 weeks. 8-9 weeks is pretty standard for most any show breeder. Many people want a puppy and not an adult dog. He did say 7 1/2 MONTHS! Should the breeder keep them for a year then? 2 years? If you think 7 1/2 MONTHS (30 weeks) is to young you must be pretty new to dogs. To keep them as long as you think would be hard on the dam, not to mention a terrible thing to do to the pups. The pups need one on one time with their new owners, can you imagine a breeder trying to socialize a litter of ten properly for 7 1/2 MONTHS? My pups are out getting championships, coursing, obedience, and agility. What are yours doing?

If you complained to AKC about someone selling puppies at 7 1/2 months (not to mention taping), I am sure AKC would get quite a chuckle out of it.

Who sold you this dog at such a young age? this pup should still be with its mother.
and it sounds as if you have had it for a while, or you started torturing it right as you got home.
Stop! take the dog back, say sorry and do not get a pet again.
Gluing ears, OMG then in 6 months you will be asking why dose your dog hate you so much and we will say I told you so.

Then go report the breeder to AKC for bad breading practices, they are not good breaders they are only in it for the money.
AKC or any real breeders will not just hand off a puppy to anyone and especially at such a young age. and especially anyone that would glue its ears.

To MJ you are not much of a breeder if you part with your dogs at that age and the breeder she got it from them at 9 weeks that is not long enough

So far i have heard of ears fully straighten at 7 months..so i guess u could give him another month two, and hopefully it will develope naturally. If still nothing, u'll need to get him to the vet to get his ears taped. My GSD's ears stood up at 3 1/2 months.

If your dog's earshasto betaped, please dont breed this dog as chances are all his puppies will have the same problem and it;s a major fault in competitions

It has to do with calcium and the dog's lineage. I've heard that it doesn't do any good to tape them before 5 months and after 8 months. Check with a german shepherd breeder or your vet to get more information.

My Chihuahua's ears won't stand up yet because she is teething and her muscles aren't fully developed. But at about 6 to 7 months they should already be standing up so maybe your puppy just will have floppy ears.

Well I'm a boy but I believe on us boys, short hair is always better. Long hair doesn't ALWAYS show a sign of dominance. An individual see most other guys with long hair that doesn't look like they can fight. For example there will be a boy in my school with very long blonde hair.

You glued them!? Eeeks...you people are scaring me!!!

>>Was that your only motivation for buying/getting a German Shephard? Leave the poor dogs ears alone, what they will do will be natural!
