One of my friends waited 2 days while her German Shepherd puppy had bloody diarrhea & then dumped it on me....I do not like dogs but I took him to the vet because I can't look at an animal suffering & my vet doesn't really charge that much......He had Parvo & they really didn't think he would live & he was so uncomfortable that I had him euthanized......Why don't people get their animals vaccinated or take them to the vet???
I'm really pissed right now....She makes A LOT more money than me, that pup did not deserve to die. :(

Sorry I really needed to vent.....

I am not pissed that I spent money on this dog at all!! I am just pissed that it had been in pain for that long - when my Siamese cat got cancer I took her to the vet!! I am still paying off the vet bill but it was worth it to not have her suffer

I applaud you for doing what you did. You took responsibility when the owner didn't.

It's unfortunate that this dog had to die because of parvo, which is easily preventable. This "friend" of yours should NEVER NEVER NEVER own another animal of any kind ever again.

The only advice I can give you, is don't be friends with this person. Whatever money you spent, consider it charity and walk away.

I can totally relate!!! I currently have a 10 month Dobie that these people got. They paid money for him and paid a lot to get his ears done too. That was it. they never had vaccines or wormer or anything. He got sick and they called the vet, and they said they could NOT pay the $35 office visit. So now he is mine and I have to get that done and try and place the dog.
The losers will probably get another dog too.
So many people think they are entitled to freebies!!!!!
ANd the excuses are many!!! The vets never know what is wrong, the vaccines are harmful, the animal wasn't that sick, I live 85 miles from a vet, my vet is the only one in town and he is backed up with appointments for 20 weeks.............it never ends!!!! People will not change and they will still get animals even though they will not seek vet attention when the animal needs it!!!!!!!

These people will take themselves and the kids to the doctor!! And they go A LOT...because they have Medicaid and we are all paying for that!!!!! That is what they want...Medicaid for the pets!!!!!!!

Alot of people are just ignorant when it comes to taking care of pets. They don't accept the HUGE responsibility of being a pet owner. Luckily for that dog that you were there to care for him, hopefully you were able to lessen his days of suffering. You did the right thing by putting him down, sometimes that is the most humane thing to do. I hate it when a pet is really sick and suffering, but the owner won't put it down because they are too emotional and can't deal with the loss. The poor animal doesn't understand, it just suffers.

I believe a large number of pet owners do not realize that their pets can become as ill as a human. But They Do....... Or that they hurt like humans do..... And sometimes I believe people think a dog /cat will naturally become well. but the sad thing of it is, they don,t..... I had a friend whose cat was very sick and she kept putting off taking it to the vet and he developed Diabetes..... people do not realize animals suffer from the same diseases we do, and the same ache's and pains. You have every right to vent....Your friend had no love or compassion for her dog... I sure wouldn't trust her with my kid or any kid for that matter.....

I'm sure that the dog appreciates what you did for him. I wish I had an answer to the question , 'why are some people so mean and irresponsible?" If I did I would get a Nobel Peace prize. In the meantime we can do our best to help those that fate places in our path.

Alot of people are concerned more about the money it costs than the dog, although sometimes people won't have enough finances to bring a dog to the vet, but in that case they shouldn't own one.

Laziness or Irresponsibility. Did you take the dog to the vet with your friends permission and did she say she would reimburse you for the expense. Was it really your place to take her your friends dog to the vet and now you are complain because you have to pay for a decision you made. Accept responsibility for your actions

When you find the ansewr to that question PLEASE let me know. That is one of the biggest problems with some people owning pets. Sick pet needs vet. It really is that simple. If a person is not willing or able to get vet care for a pet they should stick with stuffed animals!

Some people are ship, they don't want to spent money on their pets, but some times the more they wait the more expensive will be to take care them. ( they should get Insurance for the Pet. )
