Personally I'm with the first two - Chow and Kids do not mix well at all. There are many really good breads for kids depending your housing situation and the age of the kids. Check out this sight for picking a good dog breed.

Chows can be very dangerous. I don't care what it's mixed with, it's still part chow. I have friends who had chows, and it was hard for even adults to walk in their house, let alone kids. Forget about it......try looking for a dog that is suitable for kids. If something were to happen, you'd never forgive yourself.

i just got a puppy that was part chow and part beagle there where other mixes in there too, but where i got the pup from they had kids and they were fine and he is a real sweetheart. i would say meet the dog, and have your kids meet the dog if there is a connection go for it, any dog brought up with love can be a great dog with anyone

I wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it!!!!!!! I would never trust a Chow with kids. EVER.
