Sugar gliders are expensive high maintenance exotic animals. They're not like mice or hamsters. They require a special diet that you have to mix up yourself. You also have to cut up fruits and veggies nightly. I have 2 sugar gliders and I also have a dog. But, I do not let my dog or my gliders interact with one another. Sugar gliders are so delicate and just one misplaced paw (dog) could kill him/her.

Did you know that sugar gliders are nocturnal? They sleep throughout the day and play all night long. Would you be able to spend about 2 hours late at night playing with sugar gliders?

They also need a huge cage. (Not a hamster cage)

They do better in pairs so if you do decide to get some get a same sex pair (unless you want joeys)

my aunt has a sugar glider, she also has 2 dogs, 6 cats, and 3 birds...it works for her, but she separates some of the caged animals to a small den in her home. she loves it and has had a great experience...good luck!

my ex had sugar gliders and they're cages smell AWFUL and that was even when he continuously cleaned them! they're not really that playful, if they dont' likeyou or are threatened they will bite and make very loud very strange noises. and they're nocturnal. so yes, if you are a person who enjoys wearing clothes pins on your nose and ear plugs at night or staying up at night then by all means :]

Just make sure you do loads of reasearch before you get one cause like the other people said they can be hard to care for. They are also illeagal in some states and places so be sure to make sure having one in your area is legal.

This is a great pet if your are nocturnal. They sleep all day and are up all night. Usually found owned by college students. =) Have a urine smell like ferrets

They are not domesticated and they belong in the wild, in their proper habitat. Not stuck in someone's house.
