I have 2 cats and I'm leaving to Eygpt next week for 5 days. My friend is temporary staying with her boyfriend . SHe told me that I can leave my cats at her apartment and she will check on them two times a day everyday. her and her bf live in the same area.My cats will be by themselves all day. Is that ok? I know they will have the apartment to themselves but will they be stressed? Their toys will be with them and also their basket that they sleep in so it can comfort them. I am worried. I am afraid that they wont play and move around as they r used to because they will be alone. WIl they be ok or should i cancel my trip. These are my babies and I dont want anything bad to happen to them. please help me.

BTW: One of my cats is deaf and goes crazy when he sees strange people. Thats why I am always so worried. Advantage is that my deaf cat is used to my friend.

I moved house about a month ago and when i took my 1 year old male cat to the new house he ran straight upstairs and jumped out the top bedroom window into the garden and jumped over the wall and ran off. I went looking for him but couldnt find him. I live next to lots of lanes that lead to everywhere, even to the town centre! Will he ever come back? He didnt know his way around the area either. I am wondering how a 6-7 month old kitten should be acting the morning after taking kitten for his first shots at the vet? He got two shots, distemper and another, a worm pill and advantage for fleas....This was his first vet visit and his first shots....We adopted him about a month or so ago.

My cat is two years old. She lately has started throwing up like every other day. Why is she throwing up so much? Do I need to worry? I feed her Eukanuba and she is very active and eats and drinks enough...she looks really healthy

My 6-month old kitten keeps jumping up on the kitchen table, kitchen counters, and stove area. When I notice, I clap and in a firm voice say "no"...I pick her up by her scruff and put her in time out in the bathroom...I've even bonked her lightly on the head a few times...nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Would anyone suggest using a bitter apple spray?

My kittens are about a month and a half old and my room is in the basement of my house. I was in the living room half watching a movie, i had the lights off because i could see a shine in the tv and my window was open. So i stepped on a chair to close the window cuz its a little high up and when i stepped down from the chair i accidentally stepped on one of my kittens. It started rolling around the ground in circles and it was bleeding from its mouth, now i dont know where i stepped on it but im guessing its mouth. There's an overnight vet down the road from my house so i drove there as fast as i could, i probably got there within five minutes or less. Now, the doctor said that he couldn't feel any broken bones anywhere and that he gave it some medicine and its in an oxygen tank. I just want to know if this has happened to anyone before and after 24 hours did the cat survive, the doctor wasn't sure and im a nervous wreck, please somebody help.

I have a cat that will soon be 18 years old. I've had a horrible time keeping weight on her. Until the last several months she's always had a very healthy weight. We've ruled out medical reasons for the weight loss. She sees a vet at least twice a year for senior kitty check ups. Each time we do full bloodwork and test the urine. Once a year we do an ultrasound. She just had all of this stuff done twice in the last three months. We are also sure she is parasite free and that her thyroid is normal. She has been on an ultra premium, organic diet for years. Lately just to put weight on her I've tried more brands and additional types of food. She is allowed to eat as much as she wants, trust me she has a healthy appetite. Anyone else out there have a similar issue? Oh, her poo is solid and no changes there. She's also 100% indoors.

I have a 3 year old tabby cat. I adopted it from PetSmart last year and was wondering if it needs a rabies shot. My house is clean and everything nice looking and safe for my cat. She doesn't go outside and only stays in the house? Does she need a shot? And how do cats get rabies?

When my cat Homer is bathing himself with his tongue, if he is sitting next to me, he often tries to include me in the ritual.

He is sitting next to me as I type, grooming himself, and he suddenly started to lick MY ear.

Does your cat do this?

My cats seem to bother one plant in my house. They don't chew the leaves. They just play in the dirt. I come home every day and clean up dirt from this plant. I am getting very tired of it. Have used the "greens" for them, and that didn't stop them. I hear the other day that human hair may work, but I thought that was just for keeping deer out of gardens. I need help because this is making me crazy on a daily basis.

Does it actually work??? My cat has fleas and has flakey skin and his hair is falling out in patches. I was told to try giving him a bath in dawn dish soap to kill the fleas instead of flea soap. Also should I put a small amount of conditioner on his fur after to help soften his fur??

I think my cat has rabies. We found her today after she had been gone for 5 days. She was skinny, he head felt like there was skin missing under her fur and she was hissing and scratching and biting at everyone and everything. She scratched my mom but not badly. I tried to calm her by giving her treats but she hissed and tried to claw me. She has been hiding in the corners for a few hours. Im afraid because I have two baby (7 month) old cats and a 13 year old cat. The pysco one is 11. Tomorrow my school will be out for staff development. I think thats good so I can keep her away from the kittens, but if she bites me and she DOES have rabies there will be no one to take me to the doctors or whatever. No saliva...but her back legs seem weird and hunched. She is going mental. I am keeping the kittens away from her. (they think they are invincible so I don't want them to get bit.) The crazy cat has fleas (eww) too. Is it just that? Her flea collar is worn out. Im not sure. Help?

i'm in the northwest. should i buy from scamps, a cat adoption shelter (they will only let adopt if the cat will be 100% indoors, which ours will be 50/50), or the local humane society, which potentially uthenizes unwanted ones. which place is least likely to have cats with problems/ medical issues?

When will the symptoms go away. He has the painful sores in and around his mouth, and he can't eat. He has a feeding tube now, but I'm wondering if he will ever really get over it? I can't stand the thought of putting him to sleep, but it also breaks my heart to see him suffer. He had his shots for it, but that didn't seem to protect him. He has been sick for almost two weeks now-doesn't come out from under the bed unless I drag him out to feed him, or he needs to use the little box. He looks miserable with mucus coming out of every hole in his face. PLEASE HELP!
