Ok. well my mom isn't exactly a fan of cats. she tells me that she is "afraid" of cats! i cant really understand that. I just love cats and I really want to get one. My dad is fine with it, but I need both mom and dad to agree. I dont really know how to convince her, and I have been trying to do so for quite some time now. The only thing she says is "You can get one when you move out." which won't be for another 6 or 7 years. I can't wait that long! Can someone please help me?

His sibling has gone twice, but he hasn't. He pees, but that's it. I've rubbed his abdomen with a warm cloth and his anal area as well, but haven't gotten a response. It's been a few hours shy of 24 hours since I brought them in. Any suggestions on how to get him to go? I'm a little worried.

my cat who's lil over 1 yr old.. recently gave birth to kittens a month ago. I let her stay in the house but she's normally an outside cat. I have 3 other adult cats and she gets along with them fine. my brother in law came to my house to drop off his 4 cats since he couldn't keep them.. my cat saw all of them and went nuts.. attacked all of them and 3 of those cats were 6 months kittens!! so I put her outside along w her babies the following morning, hoping she'd calm down. But no.. my brother in law had tied up his german shepard way too close to my house. my cat and the kittens were on the front porch.. everything was fine. then I walked over to the dog to pet him and I didnt know my cat followed me and she full-on attacked the dog. I had to kick her off the dog and hauled her back to the front porch.. my husband came home and my cat wouldn't let him near the front door! she attacked my husband. all family members says she got rabies but I dont think so. what to do?

warning: graphic

more and more frequently my cats (2) bring other animals into the house. some living some not. they are all found in various states of dismemberment. one of my cats chews the hair off the skin of its prey and then chases it around. with birds it can get quite bloody. with rabbits its just sad. I wont even mention the snakes. does anybody else have any cats that have even come close to this and if so what did you do to stop it. when they arn't thinning out the local wildlife numbers they are both quite sweet and cuddley kittens. I just don't know what I am going to find when I come home every day. I've tried keeping them inside but they meow continously once they find their kitty door is locked. any help would be apprecieated.

My kitten of 2 months of age awkwardly fell on her tail. Now her tail head( the part of tail where tail and bottom meet) has a small bump underneath her tail. Now her tail is not held high, but moves a bit. She has no other symptoms. She acts normally. I don't know if i can afford a vet right now...do you think it is important to take her anyways? please help, i am so worried...

I have never removed the claws of any of my cats, but if I do not clip them once a week, they are like sharp needles. My two cats sleep with me and one layes on my feet in the bed. His claws are like daggers but I am not so good at regularly clipping them because he doesn't like it and it takes two people to do it; one to hold him and me to clip them.

Am I being negligent by not clipping his claws on a regular basis or should I have them removed?

Our outside cat (we think part bobcat) had and absess(SP?) on his head the vet had us lock him in a cage in our barn with dirt(for litter), food, and water, and give hime amoxicilin(SP?) twice a day for 5 days. Today is his 5th day and he has raspy breathing (sometimes out his mouth) and sometimes he has a kind of violent looking sneeze or cough i am not sure which one it is. Is it bordatella(SP?) or something else what home remedys can we do?

I adopted a kitten from a shelter on Tuesday and I just noticed that she has some flea dirt. I haven't seen any fleas, but she has been scratching some. What's the best method to treat a 8-10 week old kitten? I took her to the vet yesterday and the vet didn't even notice (or say) anything about it, and I didn't mention it because I hadn't seen it yet!
I also have 2 other adult cats and even though they haven't had much contact at all, I'm assuming I'll need to treat them as well.

Hi,
My cat has been acting lethargic for about 2 months. He is about 1 1/2 years old. He spent a weekend at the vet 3 weeks ago and he had a fever that was brought down, but his WBC count was low and his RBC count was normal. AIDS, leukemia and distemper were all negative. The vet has done a full workup and all tests were negative. The vet doesn't seem to know what to test for anymore. I am planning on getting a second opinion, but was hoping someone here might have a thought on it.

My cat goes outside quite often and one night, my parents heard her fighting so they decided to keep her outside in case she had gotten rabies. She's been living outside for over a week now, but she finally came back home today. Her front right leg is swollen and she refuses to put pressure on it. I touched it gently and she growled a low growl. Dad finally told me today that he's seen her limping around for about three days now. I want to take her to the vet and have her taken care of, but my parents say it might be too expensive. What do you think is wrong with her? Is her leg definitely broken? And what all will the vet do to help her?

i tried giving her them with her treats and it worked the first 2 times and then she caught on and stoped eating the treats out of my hand after that. than i tried to mix it in with her food but the thing with that is, she only eats her wet food sometimes and she has to eat her antibiotics 2 times a day every 12 hrs for 14 days and shes a picky cat.
so i cant really mix it in with her food and hope she will decide to eat her wet food at taht time.
i tried to open her mouth and pop it in but i cant seem to get her mouth open she moves so much and keeps her mouth shut tight
i dont know wat to do

About the cat bite, I already have an up to date tetanus shot, the kitten eats normal cat food, and its about 2 months old, it doesent have an illness, and there are no reported cases of rabies in my neighborhood.

I just brought in a litter of 2 kittens who are 2 weeks old. I have a Hartz bottle and formula, purchased from Wal*Mart. The kittens won't suck however, and I'm terribly scared that they're going to die from being malnourished. Is there any way I can get them to suck on the bottle? Or should I just give up and let someone better qualified care for them? I don't know what to do.

He chirps like a bird, He run's by you and sqeaks like a mouse or makes a drrrrruuuu sound, on hot days he pants like a dog, and if you accidentally step on his tail he quacks like a duck. The weird thing is that he doesn't meow. Does anyone know what's wrong with my cat?

A couple weeks ago I took my cat in due to swollen, red, inflamed eyes with lots of green goop discharge. The vet diagnosed him with a URI, but only in his eyes. She said it was either herpes or one other name. (can't remember) She gave him two different antibiotic ointments to go in his eyes twice a day. I did that, but he still isn't well. Some days his eyes will be normal, then the next day he will wake up and they will be inflamed. I'm concerned that the infection might have gotten in his bloodstream. Does this sound common? I'm so worried about him. I plan to make another vet visit, so you don't have to tell me that.. but has anything heard or seen anything like this? I'm so concerned!

FYI- He isn't active like he normally is. He is still eating/drinking and using the litterbox.

Thanks!

Yesterday a cat was meowing loudly (sounded a bit like a racing car) outside my office window. We let her in and she wandered about the office looking for something. She wasn't interested in eating. Someone wondered if her kittens had been taken away from her and she was trying to find them. Could he be right?
