Yesterday a cat was meowing loudly (sounded a bit like a racing car) outside my office window. We let her in and she wandered about the office looking for something. She wasn't interested in eating. Someone wondered if her kittens had been taken away from her and she was trying to find them. Could he be right?

Very possibly. Especially if the kittens were very young. Did she look as though she was nursing? (The nipples would be swollen) Not only would she be missing the babies but might also be in severe discomfort if she was still lactating and had no kittens to nurse. Can you find out whether she has a home nearby? If not, you might consider taking her to the humane society.

Alternatively she knew someone who lived or worked in the area and is missing them.

He could be right but there is no way to know for sure. It was really nice of you to let the cat in you guys should keep it at the office and take care of it. Cats are great stress reducers and the cat would love going around and visiting everyone all day.

cats are inquisitive, sometimes they do meow and wonder around. old cats do it if a little confused and young cats for attention/food etc. a lot of cats are also very vocal.
medically - if in season she will be very vocal and behaving tarty. if has just had a litter and have been taken away they do sometimes look for the kittens but this soon passes.

This wont injury the kittens in any respect and is risk-free as long as you're making confident the nest is super adequate so as that no physique gets squashed,I even have had this ensue myself while one cat has kittens the different desires to nurse them too, and as she has purely had kittens herself a month in the past her mothering instincts are so solid she cant help yet choose to be with them, yet how does Angel react does she ideas or does she relax while infant makes a fuss of her kittens? I even have even had spayed cats desirous to nurse and cuddle as much as litters interior the previous and that all of them cuddled up and have been greater desirable than happy and the kittens grew up with 2 cats to shelter them,so if Angel does not ideas depart infant pass to them as she is had somewhat some disenchanted already by dropping her kittens, so this might help her forget approximately her adverse loss and calm her down as otherwise she would be waiting to alter into depressed and depressing, yet be confident Angel is chuffed approximately it too,and if she is then super for all of them even the kittens as they'll improve as much as be nicely adjusted babies with 2 mums! she is acquainted with they are not hers as she would be in a position to scent Angel on them yet she does not ideas sharing.

It could be, or she could just be looking for her ownder and has gotten a bit lost. Minx looks for her kitten that left today to go to a new home and is very sad that he's gone, as are the other kittens, but I've spaced out their depatures so it should affect her too much.

Could well be. Mother cats have a special sound they make when calling their kittens that is unlike a regular meow.

It's also possible that she had been dumped and was trying to find her old home and owner.

although i agree that cats are investigative, i have to question wheather a cat would so bravley approach humans just to wonder about in their office. I'm not completley ruling it out, but it sounds to me that she was definatley looking for something. If you see the cat again and she allows you to touch her or get close enough, check to see if her nips are swollen from lactating then you will know for sure if she is missing her babies.

Cats are just nosey and the cat ( how do you know it was a she? ) must have thought it was xmas when you let it in. Is it the office pet now. P.S what were the results of the cat scan? Haha!

Maybe the cat just was interested in finding somebody to eat... it could have been a cannibal! You never know, unless you ask him... so tomorrow, ask the cat if its a cannibal. If it is, watch out because that means he eats people, and you are a person! ! ! ! !
