He chirps like a bird, He run's by you and sqeaks like a mouse or makes a drrrrruuuu sound, on hot days he pants like a dog, and if you accidentally step on his tail he quacks like a duck. The weird thing is that he doesn't meow. Does anyone know what's wrong with my cat?

My cat does a lot of things that dogs do. I think he grew up or use to live with dogs. I notice that cats mimic each other. Maybe yours is just mimicking whats around him.

Having been a cat owner for 30 years, your cat sounds perfectly normal. Cats have a wide range of vocals. The chirps and squeaks are mostly greeting noises and\or little vies for attention from you. As far as the panting goes, cats have the same cooling system as dogs and that is how they disperse heat. Take a look at the big cats on the Discovery channel. They pant too. And yes, a quick yowl of pain can sound like a quack. As far as the standard meow, I wouldn't worry about it. Obviously, this cat conveys it's feelings and needs very well.

Well...
---The chirping probably occurs b/c he sees a bird or squirrel, I'm not sure why, but some cats just act weird like that (maybe some kind of instinctive signal?...)
---The panting occurs b/c he's hot. When dogs get hot, they open their mouth and pant, blah, blah, blah...Same thing applies for cats.
---The quacking might occur b/c he's "fussing" at you for stepping on his tail. My cat never hisses or growls when he's angry (and I'm sure you're think that, "Wait, cats don't growl...do they?").
---The sqeaking and the drrrruuuu sounds I'm not so sure about, but like all other animals, different cat, different vocal sound. That might be the case for that...

Some cats make unusual noises. Not all cats meow. I have purebred Ocicats. My cat meows and it sounds like a squeaky door.
Not all cats make the same noises.
All people sound different.
So do cats.
And stop stepping on your cats tail.

It could be his breed. If he is watching birds, he will chirp like a bird. I have seen cats do that.
Don't worry about your cat. It sounds like he's acting like a normal cat. You need to change your perceptions about cats.

Is your cat a breed? I have a Siamese who is very vocal and makes all kinds of sounds except the typical meow. He does purr though.

Does anyone in your family have a cat? If they do, take your cat over to that family members house for a while and that cat will show your cat how to be a cat

Your cat is perfectly fine. Cats love to make noises that are not their own. But you'll need to socialize him with other cats, just because he might feel a little out of place.

mrrrrrrow, however you spelled it, is a chirrupy, "Hello, you!", and is a friendly greeting from the cat. As for not meowing? Most are vocal when in need of something, if in distress, and in greetings. Ya got the greetings.
