If a cat is vaccinated against Feline Leukemia, then why can't it interact with a carrier of FL? It's probably an obvious answer, but I really don't know. I know that it is a disease transfered by fluids, but I don't get why cats who are vaccinated can't live with or interact with a cat who is a carrier of FL.

My cat gets car sick. I am moving 2 1/2 hrs away and was wondering if there is something I can give her to relax so she doesn't throw up in the car. If I wasn't leaving, I wouldn't do this to her, but since she's going with me, I want to make her as comfortable as possible. How can I do that? Thanks.

They are 6 weeks and 3 days old.
One is completely potty trained .. he hasn't pottied on the floor in about a week which is weird because he's the last born.
The other two WILL NOT use the litter box. I have a cookie sheet with litter in it, i keep it VERY clean but thet always go right next to it. I try and get it cleaned up quick and get the smell out but it's not helping. The litter box is downstairs with their water and kitten food. Mom nurses them about twice a day still but they love their hard food.

Will they eventually start going in the litter box? I figured it will take time but do you have any suggestions?
Thanx to all who answer.

For fun, here's pictures:

My finace and I just found out that our landlord will allow us to have a kitten! I am super excited because I have had cats growing up and miss my cat. I am concerned about the size of our apartment. It is really small and I am worried about living a kitten at home while we work. I will get the litter box and all the other goodies that go along with a new kitten, but what about putting the kitten in a carrier during the day while I am at work? I would put a litter pan and food inside so the poor thing doesn't starve or explode from having to go to the bathroom. I just want to make sure it's safe until it gets use to the lay of the land.

I live in a small apt complex. We are not supposed to have any pets inside (i'm not sure about outside) I do not have the money to take the mama cat and kittens to the vet for their shots. I don't want to take them to the pound because they will be put down. The kittens are only 2 weeks old. Nobody in my complex has been feeding the mama cat, therefore the kittens aren't getting enough nutrients to stay alive.
What should I do?

Will the older cat be territorial? Will he want to fight my new cat (who is the same age and looks the same as him)? Will he run away an never come back? The only contact they have is between a glass door.

Here is the background on the outdoor cat. 5 years old, 4 years outdoors. He came on a regular basis until I think about begining of 2006. At that time he stopped coming at all until 6 months later, came everyday for 6 month and now since this January he only comes once a week or so. He scares easily now (only since this January) and if I were to open the door after he eats and lies in the ground, he will walk away. He only lets me pet him when he's eating, sometimes not at all. I think he doesn't trust or like us anymore except for food. (Might have gotten tortured?) What would happen if he sees we have another cat on his ground?

Oh, my old cat came this morning and my new cat was peering through the window so my old cat can't see him. I just got t

My niece is moving in next month. She really wants to get a pet rat. Problem is I already have 2 cats. I just have a really bad feeling about this. Nothing may happen but still even the best pet owners can make mistakes, and I am afraid if I accidently left the rat cage open or if my niece wanted to play with the rat that the cats would try to kill it. I don't want this to happen my niece has had enough tragedy and trauma in her life. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can gently approach her about this, and voice my very real concerns?

i just adopted a two year old calico female, fixed ect, young energetic little thing, with her claws (i will not declaw an animal!) ---- so i bathe all my animals, and i tried giving her a bath tonight and she freaked out and jumepd outta the tub ripping up my arms with her claws doing so.

how can we calm her down? my other cat is fine in the tub she just sits there lets u wash her, rinse her, then towel her off and off she goes.... butthis one. omgosh.

my hands and arms are covered in scratches now!!!!

i was thinking would it be wise to put her in the shower stall (stand up shower) and close the door and get one of those hose sprayer extensentions to reach her over the door???? and just do it that way???

any ideas on this ? any thoughts??? any methods? thanks
