I think it's neat that she's not tearing at the blinds anymore, remember?

She just thinks you're her mom- she's only 2.

Do you know her story? A lot of cats from shelters came from really bad situations. They were abandoned by their owners, neglected, ignored. So now that she's in a nice household she's basically meowing at you "LOVE ME!" - she's starved for love and affection!

When I first adopted Spooky, a five-year-old Persian he was EXACTLY the same way. He would come in here to my office and meow at me to move my arm so he could jump up on my lap - and would tread like mad and look at me - closing his eyes so cutely. I work from home so I'd be on the phone with a client trying not to laugh! And if I got up to get a drink or use the restroom - he'd follow me. EVERY NIGHT he'd curl up right next to my head SO tight. If I moved during the night he'd meow and recurl up next to me again.

Now it's been a few months and though he does still sleep with me he's not quite as clingy as when I first brought him home. I think when they first get into your home they're a bit worried that any affection they're going to get will be short-lived - so they need to grab all they can right away. All you need to do is cuddle and comfort your new cat and she'll soon realize that your not going to run out of love - you'll be there for her. That's so funny that she's opening the door lol

I adopted a 4 yr old Siamese-Persian last year and she would constantly follow us around and lay between my b/f and I on the couch. She has grown out of this behaviour now. She loves to be near by but doesn't jump up and lay right beside us anymore. Your cat will adjust and act normal once she realizes she is a new addition to your family and feels accepted and knows she's there for good. Set up a routine and stick to it so she can know what to expect and relax a bit.

She's just like a puppy! I know the type, they will guard your toilet door while you do your business and scratch your door if you try to have some quiet time in bed. Is this a baby?
I had no idea what to do, my life was disrupted, I couldn't go to school. It needs a playmate 24/7 and wants to zzz on your bed then you can't toss and turn in bed because you are afraid to crush it accidentally. I had to feed it from my hand and it only eats chicken drumsticks.
I sent it back.

How sweet!- Sounds like she's ADOPTED you! "People cats"- are pretty rare... I had one, and she even refused to EAT unless I was home to watch her (needless to say- I never want on any long vacations without her!). Try to get her used to a certain "routine" when she can EXPECT your Company- & when she can't. She NEEDS to understand that you're not going to desert her- & that you enjoy her company. ALSO, "people cats"- tend to be UNUSUALLY smart (as you may be finding out!). So DON'T let her get away with anything you DON'T like- or she'll drive you NUTS! Otherwise, I bet she ends up as the BEST pet you've EVER had! :)

Dear D***

Can you let me know what type of breed your "baby" is!!! If it is a maine-coon you will have endless love and affection and need a lot of time to play with baby. When you have answered I will carry on with my answer.
