I started weaning my kittens at four weeks, starting them off with KPR and KPR Second Step, we gradually started reducing the amount of formula, but it didn't really get a chance to get really oatmeal-ish as it was supposed to before the kittens started eating their mom's food. They have sharp little teeth and they chew the dry cat food well, and they use the littler box regularly without problem, but it really only took them two weeks and their kitten mush stuff really didn't even get that thick before they went to the dry cat food. I'm just concerned as to whether or not it's gone too fast and as normally as it should.

Now I'm worried about the last kitten. The mother cat seems to be a little rough with her when cleaning, and has started to bite her or hold the kitten down by placing her mouth round the kittens neck or tummy. Can anyone tell me why or if this is normal? She seems to still feed her, but that's only if I lie her down and place the kitten near her nipple, as I'm worried she won't feed her if I don't tell her its time. Hope someone can help me, as we don't want to loose this kitten. We are keeping her due to the loss of her brother an sister, and we have called her Lucky!! :-)

The school my roommate went to had a Vet Tech program where it would find injured animals, have the the students in the program, in lack of a better term, fix them up, then find homes for them. Well, she got this cat that had apparently been hit by a car. It's "fine" now, but it acts so strangely.

She'll meow at you like she wants something, but as soon as you come near or lean down to pet her she'll dart off. I've actually spent twenty minutes crouched down waiting for her to come to me. When she finally did, I got to pet her for a few seconds then she darted off.

Well, my roommate moved out and left me the cat and I'd like to be able to play with her and treat her like the other cats. So, does anyone have any tips on getting her to trust me, or at the very least stop acting so afraid? Or is she going to be acting like this permanently?

5 days ago, I got a 2 year old British Blue girl - I've called her Burberry. Anyway, since I got her home, I opened the cage and let her come out on her own, and have kept her in my bedroom only. She has been hiding behind the chair, under the bed, and behind the tv cabinet so far, but I'm starting to worry that it's too long for her to still be hiding away.

I've read a lot that says older cats have more trouble adjusting, but I'm just putting it out there incase there's anything more I can do to help her settle in. She isn't interested in any catnip toys or regular toys. She has been eating but not when I'm in the room. I've been giving her wet food on a dish and placing it just under the bed, this is the 4th night and as far as I can tell she is only eating the dry food so far.

She also meows during the night, which wakes me up so I talk to her etc (while half asleep!), and have a look under the bed at her, but still nothing.

Any suggestions? Thanks :)

My girl is very funny.. I was wondering if anyone else's cat is the same.. My cat 'talks' a lot as it is, I say her name, she looks at me and meows... What I think is funny/cute, is that she'll be in a room, she'll look around, then walk off while complaining.. she does this little low grunting noise.. My boyfriend and I call her Ms. Complaints. Anyone else have a noisy cat?

I really need you to say a prayer & add this man to your prayer list at church. His name is Glenn Hines.

My mom's best friend had a heart attack about 5 months ago. He was in the hospital & had been asleep for almost 2 months when they decided to take the breathing tube off of him. When they did he kept breathing ok on his own but still had not woke up. He is a firm beleiver in God & his family would not even let a preacher come into the hospital to pray for him. The preacher came back again the following week & they let him in. 3 days later Glenn woke up! But he doesn't remember anything. The doctor said that he had extensive brain damage & that his brain had gone to long without oxygen. They have now moved him to a reahabilitation center almost 100 miles away from home...he can walk, talk, feed him self & everything anybody else could do except for remember. He even thinks the rehabilitation center is a new house he just bought. My mom called him one day & he didnt know who she was

My cat honey gave birth to 3 kittens 7 days ago. THey have been in my closet from day one, but 2nite she moved them into the basement behind T.V. wall unit and its cold down there. I,ve been reading up on what people have said about mother moving her kittens, and understand its normal but I'm worried about them being in such a cold place.

Honey(our cat) used to sleep in basement with my older son's, until she had her kittens. The kittens are also crawling and I'm worried abt them being around the cords.

Is there anythg ishould watch for ???And should i move them, or will she move them on her owe??

We did put some sweaters there that she's had since the birth of her baby>>And yes its been washed....Any other suggestion would be most helpful..Thanks to all who help

I have a cat that is 14 years old. He never goes out, gets baths regularly, and is secluded upstairs with practically no contact except me and one other cat, that also doesn't go out, gets baths, and I am very clean, I do not allow people to come upstairs unless they take their shoes off, downstairs first. I really have very little company at all. The cats are practically alone with me. I know I do not have ringworm anywhere on my body. He was diagnosed 2 weeks age with ringworm, I am shocked and upset. How did this happen? I have thought over and over. No clue, except one. In my basement is a tanning bed, and my sister lays in it about twice a week. She has had toenail fungus for about a year now, and has took Lamisil, continuously, but still has it. Occasionally after she gets out of the bed, she comes upstairs, barefooted. Could this have given my cat ring worm? She would be furious if I accused her , she thinks it cant be caught from her. Does anyone know if that would be possible?

My cat is a diabetic and the last day and a half she has stopped eating and drinking. I took her to the litter box but she did not urinate but had a small amount of bloody diarrhea. I am taking her to the Dr. in the morning but I am concerned. Wondering if it could be a sign of organ failure due to her diabetes or something different?
Thank you for your help!

We went away for 3 weeks and had friends take care of him. Asked them to clean the box at least once a week (although it should be cleaned more often, they didn't like the idea of cleaning it out). We came home to a full litter box, and he had **** and pissed in a few other areas of the house. Since then, he's done crapped 3 more times. The other day, I was cleaning his litter box out and turned around to see him doing it 2 feet away from me. I thought to myself I might have to get rid of him.

Tonight he did it again. I'm not sure if it's because he's not getting enough attention, or if he's pissed at us for not ever being home (we've been having to go out of town a lot and still have 3 more weekend trips before the end of August) or what, but it's very frustrating

A few months back I bought a cat tree from Wal-Mart. It was really sturdy and worked well for the cats. It's a floor to ceiling cat tree that had 4-5 posts with flat surfaces in between the posts for them to lay on.

I ended up breaking it becuz I'm not patient, so when trying to move it, rather than taking the top apart, I tried sliding it down plastic broke in one of the posts. I went back to get another one and ended up with a very cheaply made one.

A while back I wrote down the company name and was going to email them, but I got sidetracked with other projects. We have two new kittens in addition to our older two cats, so having the cat tree would be great, but Walmart hasn't had any in.

Does anyone know the name of the company that made the tree? I know they have a website, but I've lost the link and I ended up losing the paper that came with the box.

Any help would be much appreciated as the kittens are getting older and I know they'd enjoy the tree.

Thank you so much! :)

Suddenly, overnight that is, my cat has grown a lump right behind his ribcage It doesnt seem to bother him, he lets me brush him as usual. But I just took him to the vet a few days ago (he showed up on my doorstep just a few weeks ago) and I'm completely out of money for another two weeks. Should I be hugely worried about this? I've known several dogs to get fat lumps on them which were roughly the same size and shape (half a golfball) but I don't know if this is normal for cats? Especially cats who were starving and are still very very thin.

Anybody who has had a similar issue please let me know if I need to go into debt to get him back to the vet.
