I started weaning my kittens at four weeks, starting them off with KPR and KPR Second Step, we gradually started reducing the amount of formula, but it didn't really get a chance to get really oatmeal-ish as it was supposed to before the kittens started eating their mom's food. They have sharp little teeth and they chew the dry cat food well, and they use the littler box regularly without problem, but it really only took them two weeks and their kitten mush stuff really didn't even get that thick before they went to the dry cat food. I'm just concerned as to whether or not it's gone too fast and as normally as it should.

no worries. If they have started eating Mom's food and nothing seems amiss like diarrhea then they are doing what is right for them.

All litters are different...it is better for the queen if the kittens are weaned earlier but just becareful what you wean them onto it sounds though as though you have got it right for them and it won't be long till they are thriving on the food.....i have had litters that are still suckling at 8 weeks and refuse all foods i try and are a right pain in the bum to wean, some would only eat chicken and others a certain food which made it difficult if the new owners couldn't get that food....then i have had brilliant litters that are fully weaned and litter trained at 6 weeks and little beuties with no runny poos and no sickness and thirve on their kitten food.......good luck with them won't be long before they are driving both you and their mummy mad!!!!

They've not been weaned too quickly - this isn't really possible, they'll just do it when natural.

It isn't even necessary to mix formula with food. You can just put out soft kitten food when they're 4 weeks of age and they'll start eating when ready. How old are they now? Being fully weaned from 6 weeks is not unusual - suckling from their mother from this point will be more out of habit from this point, so if the kittens are orphaned it shouldn't be necessary to continue kitten milk formula after 6 weeks of age so long as you're giving them proper kitten food, as much of it as they want.

At 5 weeks old they should not be separated from their mom till there is not any different determination (jointly with a feral mom or dying of the mummy). A kitten relatively desires to be with its mom till a minimum of 8 weeks old so as to benefit numerous actual and social skills. They learn how to apply the clutter container and the thank you to have interplay with human beings and different animals from copying their mom from around 5 weeks till 8-12 weeks. The kittens are on the age the place they ought to start learning to apply the clutter container. the mummy stops cleansing them as usually so as that they the best thank you to scrub themselves and the thank you to apply the clutter container. even with the undeniable fact that, maximum well-known cat containers have aspects that are too great for the kittens to get too. additionally, in the event that they won't get out of the kitten container, they won't get to the clutter container. determine that the clutter container interior the room with them has low aspects and which you're utilising non-clumping clutter. Kittens this age will relatively consume the clutter as a results of fact they hit upon each and every thing with their mouths. even with the undeniable fact that, kittens are merely messy as they the best thank you to consume good meals, use the clutter container and take over their very own grooming. My advice is that fairly than isolating the mummy and kittens (which will stress the two mom and kittens) attempt assisting mom out by utilising cleansing the kittens up now and lower back. you will get bathing wipes at a puppy shop to scrub their mouths and bottoms, or merely use a wash fabric with heat water. it relatively is what I even have executed with all my foster kittens that I even have had this three hundred and sixty 5 days. (34 and counting). they're going to finally get the cling of eating and clutter container and grooming, yet they ought to time to benefit. merely hand in there and good success.

It's just fine. Nature knows best. Don't worry. My kittens had exactly the same course.
