Question

I really need you to say a prayer & add this man to your prayer list at church. His name is Glenn Hines.

My mom's best friend had a heart attack about 5 months ago. He was in the hospital & had been asleep for almost 2 months when they decided to take the breathing tube off of him. When they did he kept breathing ok on his own but still had not woke up. He is a firm beleiver in God & his family would not even let a preacher come into the hospital to pray for him. The preacher came back again the following week & they let him in. 3 days later Glenn woke up! But he doesn't remember anything. The doctor said that he had extensive brain damage & that his brain had gone to long without oxygen. They have now moved him to a reahabilitation center almost 100 miles away from home...he can walk,talk,feed him self & everything anybody else could do except for remember. He even thinks the rehabilitation center is a new house he just bought. My mom called him one day & he didnt know who she was

but he was smart enough to make her think h did! But you could tell that he really didn't know because they were sooo close. I personally don't think they want him to remember because his family won't let anyone see him except for his children, grand children, & ex-wife. TThey won't even tell my mom where he is. So God is his only chance of remembering anything. I really don't think he has extensive brain damage...if he did he wouldn't be able to do the things he's doing. Doctors don't know everything...after all there just doctorse, not God.

Please help. Glenn means alot to me too because if it hadn't been for him we would have lost our house & my mom wouldn't have a cell. We were about to lose our house so he gave my mom a job & then she didn't have a cell & he couldn't bare the thought of her possibly breaking down with us kids with no way of calling anyone. He is also the reason my horse is at my house today. We didn't have enough money to buy a fence so he did.

I am so sorry to hear about his family not letting u and your mom see best friend i am glad to hear that he awoke,there is a thing called amnesia he can remember one day or he may never remember,some people after a while can remember everything and some people can never remember also it takes time maybe one day he will start remembering bits and pieces if he can do everything then he can remember some day also be patient and since this man is important in your lifes lets pray and have faith in god i believe he will remember and god works in mysterious ways ,i am a believer of god myself and will pray for glenn god bless and dont forget believe and it shall be done.

I am very sorry about your friend. Medical science still cannot explain all the mysterious things that happen in the brain-this explains why he can do all the things he does and can't remember. I have seen this happen in cases like his and the people very seldom ever regain their full memory. He is still much the same person he was, though, so you can start a new friendship with him starting now.
As for your concern about his family-the rehab center will have a patient advocate-ask for a meeting and express your concerns.
