I hope that someone can answer this in a timely fashion, My cat had 9 kittens 3 weeks ago. There is two runts but at this time they seem to be doing okay; however, one that wasnt even a runt is not. I went to check on them and it was in the corner of the box, i thought it was dead, i picked it up and it was completely cold and wasnt moving, upon a close look i noticed very shallow breathing. I went and got it kitten formula and gave it 2ML and after 30 minutes it started to move. It didnt move to much but it was a sign in the right direction. Currently its eyes have blood looking spots on the iris and wont dilate to light correctly, and the membranes are half way over the eye. Also the poor thing cant even blink. I've been trying to warm it and feed it. But how much should i feed a kitten in this condition, and how often? I also have been supplementing the runts a few times a day and they are doing okay, seem to have a lot of energy, but are still VERY small..

so, will he enter at the state he was in when he left this world? In pain, seizuring, full blown rabid crazy, or will he be the sweet kitty he was for all those years? I feel all children and animals should go to heaven because they are so innocent.

What age do you think kittens should be separated from their mothers? I just wanted to know, I got my cat at 17 weeks.

He's a boy by the way. And I like very different names. I already have 3 other cats whose names are Scout, Alibi, and Griffin, just to give you an idea of what names I like.

I have two kittens, brothers , 17 weeks old now. They were neutered five days ago. I chnaged their brand of cat food several weeks ago. Yesterday, one kitten starts to vomit after he eats the new dry cat food and it has continue today. What is the best wet and dry food to give him ? Could he have developed an allergy to the new food and ittook two weeks for it to show symptoms ? Also, when they were neutered, they were given their first rabies shot and their last distemper shot for the year. Could that be why he is sick ? They were neutered on 7/18/2007. Any suggestions and shared experiences reagrding you kitten/cat vomiting and food recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have a cat who is a little over 15 years old. She has started to urinate and poop much more often (my mom thinks her bladder has stopped functioning) and in places she shouldn't be, she can't eat dry food anymore, her legs are starting to shake very noticeably when she stands still. Other than that, she seems to be healthy, and I don't want to euthanize her, but my parents can't stand her for the above problems AND her history of constant vomiting (she still does). I don't want to lose her, and I don't think she wants to be lost by me... I'm the only one who mutually loves her, and that is the way it has always been. I don't think I'm ready to lose her, and I'm not sure if she's ready, either... I want to be with her when she dies, so she can die in peace. I don't know how I'm going to handle it, though; I had her since I was a baby. I also don't know how I'm going to handle the rest of her time alive, knowing she'll die soon...

Knew he was sick when we adopted him, 6 yr old neutered cat
vet gave him clavamox drops 15mL twice daily until finished. didn't work, took him back 8 days later and now he's on orbax pills 22.7mg once a day for past 7 days, 3 days of prescription left. still not any better.

i wanna take him back to the vet but don't know what to do or ask for?
sounds really congested, runny eye (not eyes, just the one), sneezes, coughs alot (like choking on food but isn't) , is it allergies? or still respiratory?

i know its offensive to say i never like cats since young, sorry to all the cats lovers. after living with my in laws for a year, they pick a female cat from the streets and they love it. its totally black in colour and its like the cat in a Japanese horror movie -The Grudge. i really dislike this particular cat because she would scratch my mother in law when she tries to carry her and leaving my mother in law with scratch marks on her face and arms. but she doted on that cat as much as my father in law. i think because she is a female cat so she is biased about sex. its been 4 years now and that cat had never scratch my father in law. she would tear our leather sofa using her claws and we had to change the sofa into a wooden sofa. she has her own designated bed. but she would always lie on our bed instead, even i tried to ask her to get off the bed, she will just lie there and stare at u nonchalantly. clearing her furs on my bed just makes my blood boil. i really hate her so much...

Recently we got a dog. And when we were picking it out we were advised to get a boy instead of a girl, because girls were more independent and boys were more lovable. Now we are considering adopting a cat. We already have to girl cats, and i was wondering if there is any major difference between girls and boys behavior wise. And which gender would be more advisable to adopt with two, seven year old female cats.

There is a small (not kitten, just small) grey cat that has wandered onto our property. We have asked around and he/she doesn't belong to anyone in the area. It has returned many times, but won't let us near it yet. I started putting food out for it last week and have seen him/her eat from the bowl from a window (as soon as I go outside, he/she runs away). He has sat far away and watched me fill the bowl, and only runs to eat when I go inside. When I return to the bowl, it is usually empty or near empty, so he/she is obviously hungry. I think he is beginning to trust me, but still won't let me near enough to touch/really have a good look at him, let alone bring it to the vet to see if it's healthy.

In the meantime, I would like to be able to provide it with some sort of shelter. Is there a good type of "cat house" out there that anyone could recommend? I could also build something (out of wood), if anyone has specific ideas that cats have accepted as their "home" outdoors.

I have 2 cats who use to share a bowl of food, one needs to lose weight, so we have to give them measured out portions twice a day, how do you do that and make sure that they both get the even amount? I'm afraid one will be a piggy and eat all the food so the other gets none? how do you train a cat to eat out of their bowl only?

His veterinarian said that he has lost some of his teeth, and he's been chewing on things a lot lately. He goes for pens, paper bags, boxes, etc. He eats both canned and dry food (Nutrience Senior formula).

His appetite has not changed, but he doesn't seem to like his dry food anymore. He seems to have a hard time chewing it and will often throw up whole, unchewed kibble.
