Grandma and that cat have a relationship that you don't know about.

Here is another suggestion as he is 3 months old and will not know this hurts. When he does this take a big intake of breath (shocked sound) and run to the cat. Stroke the cat and make sympathetic noises. If it was you he was being rough with I would suggest drawing back the bit he attacked, cradling it and whining. This made my labrador understand - he did not want to hurt me. Obviously you cannot get the cats to do this but try to get the message across. We have a cat and dog and there is a major language barrier! Cats swish their tails when they are angry - to a dog this means 'Play with me.' Cats bite and swat when they are angry but this is how puppies play. They will not instinctively understand each other so try to find a way to get the message across to the puppy that he is hurting them. Failing that time him out. Take him away straight away and put him in a downstairs bathroom or something for 5 minutes.

Did you ever notice Babycakes putting her nose in one of the other cat's butts? If not, watch when they come in contact with each other and you will see them do it often. It's a greeting and a way to identify the other cat (by their scent). I think my cats have a problem, because I notice that they sniff each other's butts excessively... but also when I am petting them, they will always turn around and show me their behind and I just take it as a friendly greeting!

A kitten does this for the mom cat so mom can clean the butt area. Cats like to do this to owners too because they're considered the substitute mom. I guess you should be proud, even if it isn't exactly the best feature of the cat.

I read recently while waiting in line at the grocery store. 1 of those mini mags about cats. It flipped right to that page. It states if a cat is always showing its butt into your face, it means it showing you if its butt is clean enough for you or not. If not, the cat wants you to clean it. The cat is viewing your grandma as its own mother cat.

What is with all these what does it mean questions?

Their cats, not dreams, they can't be psychoanalyzed. They do the things they do because they do. We either love their habits or hate them, we can try to change them, and we probably won't succeed.

The cat probably doesnt realise hes doing anything with his butt other than begging for a good scratch/pet.

cats greet eachother by touching noses and butts.
You don't have to smell her butt, but, if you want her to really like you, next time you see her, put your face real close to hers. her face that is.

Mine does the same when she starts making biscuits (which hurts sometimes because of the claws).
