What age do you think kittens should be separated from their mothers? I just wanted to know, I got my cat at 17 weeks.

Cats should not be separated from their mothers any sooner than 10 weeks! The ideal is 12 weeks. This is a critical time for kittens to learn and develop. Any sooner than that is like telling a human child to move out and get a job when he's only 13... just too early.

17 weeks is GREAT!

At the very least 8 weeks. They need to be nursing for at least that long. Besides, you don't want them to miss out on what their mom would teach them (litter box, etc.)
When my cat had kittens I wouldn't let anyone take them until they were 12 weeks.
