so, will he enter at the state he was in when he left this world? In pain, seizuring, full blown rabid crazy, or will he be the sweet kitty he was for all those years? I feel all children and animals should go to heaven because they are so innocent.

Hun???? I'm a guy dude, Chris is a guys name. Our cat was a 6 year old male. I have 3 closed questions about the death of our cat if you want to view more, not sure how you do that, i'm new to yahoo answers, this is a great site though, most people have been very kind, with the exception of a few ppl, namely the last guy saying cats don't have souls, how cruel.

Nothing is going on, all of my questions are helping with the healing process. I feel a lot better, so does my gf, but it takes awhile, time will heal it.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm so sorry for your loss.
As for animals having souls, well, the word animal comes from the Latin word anima, which means soul. A friend of mine who is a rocket scientist once pointed out that the scientific principle that energy cannot be lost applies to the electrical energy of the brain - she contended that when a person dies, the electrical energies of their brain has to go somewhere, it can't just cease to be, and therefore belief in an afterlife is a rational one. So it may seem a bit odd to equate the electrical processes of the brain with an eternal spirit, but it holds up. Cats have brains; cats' brains have electrical energy; that electrical energy cannot just stop existing; therefore it is reasonable to believe that cats' energies continue after the death of their bodies.
Yeah, that sounds pretty cold, doesn't it? But I hope you see what I am getting at, and that it helps you a bit.
In times past, when I lost a beloved cat, this website really helped me - http://www.petloss.com/ - they have some inspirational readings that may help, and they have the Monday Night Candle Ceremony which is a memorial service specifically for pets, and they also have the Rainbow Bridge story available which may offer you a bit of hope as well.

Hello!!! duh, yeah all dogs and cats go to heaven.
The sicknesses they get while they are here does not follow them to heaven.
Little Snickerbottoms is fine now and enjoying a playful game of grab the yarn with all the other dead little cute cuddly kitties.
Other cat games in heaven include but are not limited to:
Scratch the human in a frenzy during a bath.
Pounce on an unsuspecting human while sleeping and give him a heart attack.
Smoother the todler in bed while he sleeps game.
"Accidently" catching the house on fire and blaming the dog is a popular past-time in cat heaven.
Doing something stupid and embarrassing and then walking away like you had nothing to do with it.
Seeing how messy you can make the litter box while the owner is away for the weekend is always fun.
Or how about running out of the house while the owner opens the door a couple of inches to leave for work when he's late for the most important meeting he has ever had?
Here's a good one. Get on the counter and walk all over the cutting board while the owner is cutting chicken for dinner..AFTER you just walked in the litter box.
Anyway, cats go to heaven and have a good time playing the games and perfecting them for their next owner.

Pets go to a much better place than People Heaven. Animals don't know how to do the bad things that people can do, so they only know what their owners teach them-which means they LIVED to make the people they loved, happy...It doesn't get any more perfect that that. We as humans cannot imagine how wonderful & amazing Pet Heaven is, just know that all the bad things your kitty left with, are not with him any longer.

Certainly!! St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of pets! I believe there is a special place in Heaven for our pets! I have prayed to St. Francis several times for my own pets when they were ill-missing-or had passed away! I get alot of comfort in knowing that pets have there on Patron Saint! I am so sorry for your loss! Someday you will again be reunited, and all we be better then it was here! Bless you and may you find love in your heart for another furry friend as the animal shelters are overflowing this time of year with kittens! My pets aside from my fish are all rescues!! It might be to soon but just visit a shelter, you might just fall inlove all over again!

I think that pet heaven is just like my concept of human heaven - it's what you want it to be. I think that you enter heaven in the state that you choose to enter. You can choose the age, the health, those who will be with you.... so applying this concept to your kitty (I'm very very sorry by the way) - I think that your kitty will be able to choose for him/herself. It's what he/she would want. And yes, I think that even a cat is capable of making that decision.
I certainly agree with you that heaven should reserve a special spot for innocent children and animals.

I think all animals or humans with a heartbeat either go up there or down there. I think he's probably in heaven looking down on you and he's definitely the sweet kitty he was for all those years before he got sick. I'm sorry for your loss.

Oh, he's up there with other kitties... playing and chasing butterflies. He feels no pain and there is nothing there that can hurt him now. He is in the very best place possible, and he looks like he did as a very young kitten.

Ys, cats go to heaven and he will be peaceful and happy there, as you knew him before his sickness. But how on earth did he get rabies? Where do you live? Poor kitty!
