We just recently got a new kitten from the pound. She is about 3-4 months old and was fixed about 2 days ago.
We've had 1 cat for a little over a year now (she was about 3 months old when we got her). We brought the young kitten home yesterday and have kept her in our extra room at night. When we put these cats together, the older one stalks the younger one as if she was prey. She swats and hisses at the younger cat. Occasionally, it'll appear as if they're playing..but that doesn't last very long. Our older cat gets mad when we try and pet her and seems jealous towards the younger one. Will this end? The younger cat crys LOUDLY when we lock her in our extra room; I'm assuming that's just cause she's young and is scared/lonely.
Our older cat's eyes get really wide (and dialated) when she watched the kitten walk around..obviously the kitten is afraid and folds it's ears back and hisses when approached by our older cat.
Please help!

He was missing for three days and came back barely able to put weight on the leg with no visible injury. He has gotten better but cannot jump or climb easily and frequently has to rest. He is a big cat: tall, long and hefty w/o being fat so the injury will likely not heal properly. Is there any remedy short of a vet visit which I cannot afford? Maybe baby aspirin daily or something else?

fatal and required the cat to be put down the vet said. She is broken up by the fact that the cats head had to be decapitated to get sent off to the lab for results. Now when they bury him, they will just bury the body and the head is off at some lab somewhere here in Ohio. She is busted up over this. I told her that the body is just a vessel for the spirit and soul, and he is now in heaven, his spirit, do you agree?

I'm really feeling sorry for everyone who has fleas right now because I just got through having one the worst flea problems I think I've ever had. Here's what I did to get rid of them so hopefully it will work for you.
Mix lysol and hot water in a spray bottle (half and half of each) and spray everything in your house that cannot be washed. Lysol, come to find out, kills flea eggs and flea larvae on contact. They start bleeding immediately-its weird.
If possible, wash everything that can be washed in hot water. If you have dark clothes that youd rather not wash in hot water, wash them in warm water.
search fleas its the second entry

He is loving and even tempered and doesn't scare easily. Very easy going. Will sit on lap and sleep in bed and likes to play. He is also gray. Neutered male a little fat though.

Not sure if I will be moving yet or not but my biggest concern is my cat who is my baby. I have a carrying cage for him but he hates car rides and cries very loudly. If I do move it will take about 5 days to get there driving full days. What do I do to make him comfortable? What do I do for him as to food and water on the way? Will he be too upset to eat and drink? Also what about his litter box?
Any of your ideas or experiences will be appreciated! = )
I will not give him away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There so many street cats in our neighborhood. Is there any service we can call so they can come and pick them up to a shelter? I couldn't find anything on Google. Maybe I just don't know what it's called, in order to do the right search. Thanks for all the answers.

Before the usual suspects leap in and tell me to get her spayed, I must explain. She is a pedigree Burmese and I want her to have a litter. I have a stud all lined up but she's 9 months old now and there's no sign of her coming on heat. Do you think she's sterile? She's happy, active and well fed.

I keep her in my room this time to see if maybe so got into something downstairs. But the spots came back. I need help with this.

I just wanted to let you all know that the kitten has made it through the night, he is moving around, although not like the other kittens but is a little fighter thats for sure. He can move his body and can kind of walk. I woke up every few hours in the night and hes doing fine. I had put him back in with the other kittens and mommy kitty isnt moving him away, she has cleaned him and around 4am i noticed he even was trying to suckle on her. However, what I'm still unsure of is his eyes. He doesnt seem to move them, and his membranes are still covering the eye about 25% and his pupils are still not dilating correctly. His body temp has went back to normal it appears as well. I really hope he makes it with my contuniued efforts to keep him alive.

We also treated my apartment, but she still doesn't want to come inside. She cries and paws at the door until I let her out everyday when I get home. She also hides in the weirdest places, like in the fireplace, or the lining of my couch. Does anyone have a clue what's wrong with my kitty?

2007-07-24 02:43:20 · 5 answers · asked by alee522 2

we found some baby kittens outside and took care of them outside. i doubt they had much contact with other cats. they ran to the neighbors and she took them to the vet. one of them had an eye infection. we got them back and kept them inside. they were 5 weeks old when they went to the vet and they have been here inside a little over a month.

the other day i noticed they were breathing funny. like panting. they eat fine, and drink milk. i wanna know why theyre panting?? its been really really hot

they scratch me/bite me all the time when theyre playfighting no major scratches but thing is i havent been feeling well.. ive been feeling sort of not hungry and exhausted all the time. could they have rabies and given it to me or would the vet have known they have it? i dont have money to take them to the vet--or a ride.

we have other housecats but keep them seperate.
sorry this is so long!

MONDAY, JULY 9 Last Days' Sunny Side Up! edition kicks off with a heartwarming tale of natural enemies making friends, from the wilds of Victoria, Texas. That's where Mrs. Eunice Collins was running errands in her Chevy Tahoe when she heard the sound of a meowing kitten. "I thought I was going crazy," said Collins to the Victoria Advocate, but a gas-station pit stop confirmed her sanity, and revealed the stray kitten residing under her car's hood. Upon taking the stray kitten home, Collins named him "Tahoe" and kept him in a bedroom; four days later, she was shocked to see the kitten nursing from the family's 3-year-old longhaired dachshund. "I couldn't believe it," said Collins, who reports the dachshund feeds the kitten in the morning, at night, and after naps, with the nursing Tahoe purring and pawing at the dog's belly.
