My cat honey gave birth to 3 kittens 7 days ago. THey have been in my closet from day one, but 2nite she moved them into the basement behind T.V. wall unit and its cold down there. I,ve been reading up on what people have said about mother moving her kittens, and understand its normal but I'm worried about them being in such a cold place.

Honey(our cat) used to sleep in basement with my older son's, until she had her kittens. The kittens are also crawling and I'm worried abt them being around the cords.

Is there anythg ishould watch for ???And should i move them, or will she move them on her owe??

We did put some sweaters there that she's had since the birth of her baby>>And yes its been washed....Any other suggestion would be most helpful..Thanks to all who help

It is possible the closet was too warm. How cold is cold? If they are snuggled up together, they are probably warm enough. Feel their ears. You can move them. I would if I didn't want them in the basement. Mom may or may not move them back or to a new place - depends on why she moved them in the first place. Do protect your kittens from electrical cords. I used Bitter Apple, which worked pretty well, although you should renew it periodically. You can get it at most pet stores.

Ur cat knows what she is doing ,she will keep them warm herself, just keep an eye on them, but mama will care for them and if u move them she'll move them back, had a cat with kittens and did the same thing, she feels more secure were she is at now so dont worry also they tend to be overprotective of there babies.congratulations and good luck.

you could try moving them. but she might just bring them back. or you coulds lock them into a room with the mom untill you feel that they are safe. but make sure that the mom has a place to hide the kittens were its dark. she moved thme to a place that she felt safe and that they wouldent get hurt.

Cats have fur. They curl up together. You can move them but the mother may move them again. move them if it gets really cold.
