One of my 3 cats is crazy! I cant even put my sneakers on without having him attack the laces (and sometimes my fingers)! Its almost like he is MAD at the laces!

Why does he do this?

I need to find her a good name. She's 5-7 weeks old and loves to chase her tail and watch the fish in the aquaurium. It's got to be a really special name because she's really special, and not Lucky (that's every pound kitty's name)! Any ideas?

Hi all,

Some Background Info: My cat, Archie, is a 4 y/o medium hair tabby cat. About 3 weeks ago, we adopted a second cat from the Humane Society. About a week after we adopted her, Archie had diarrhea for about a week and also vomited a couple of times.

The Dilemma: He was ok for awhile, then last week, one of his eyes was kept closed sometimes and he had lots of clear tears coming from that eye. We took him to the vet and he prescribed a cornucopia of drugs for him, antibiotic gel for his eye, antibiotic pills, lysine supplement. His eye got better like a day after using these meds and is still ok now, but today he vomited twice. Once it looked kinda brown, the second time it looked light brown-orange.

Could he have an upper respiratory infection from the other cat? Or worms? Or could the drugs be affecting his already sensitive stomach? I don't trust vets based on bad advice given to a close friend of mine, so I wonder about the meds...

Thanks a ton in advance!

I know this is going to sound silly, but how do I tell if my cat has fleas or not? He is always biting and gnawing at hisself. It's so gross and annoying! He is an indoor cat. He has not been outside or around any other animal for the past 8 months. I have never saw a flea on him or around him and have never seen one in my house. Could this biting/gnawing just be part of his grooming hisself or something?

I have just found out that my 18 year old cat has cancer (neoplasia). I took him to the vet for breathing problems. After seeing x-rays, we realized that his chest had a large tumor. The vet said that at his age, the only option was to take him home and spend some time (maybe 2 weeks). He is still eating but can hardly breath (even with medication) I can't tell if he is in pain, but he has no energy. Am I being selfish keeping him alive, or is he still O.K. because he is eating?

I have just found a kitten, all the vets offices nearby are closed. His eyes and ears are open and he has all of his baby teeth. He is larger than my hand, walks around a little "drunk", is meowing and licked up some baby food on his own. How old do you think he is?

I clip her claws regularly, but lately she's been nawing at her back paws more then the typical grooming. She chews on her paws with her back teeth, and grinds her claws really low. I'm scared shes going to make her little pads raw and possibly rip her own claws out. So far, no blood, but I'm not sure if i should take her to the vet, or if there is a possible home remedy for this odd behaviour.

What are the signs for a diabetic cat? My cat drinks water nonstop and is grossly overweight but she hasn't acted strangely lately or sickly.

Does anyone know of any reason why a cat wouldn't purr - she is a 1 year old calico, I've had her since she was very young and she very seldom leaves my side except to sleep. She is cuddly and sleeps with me every night, but I am yet to hear her purr - I thought purring was a sign of contentment, am I wrong? She has been spayed, is an indoor cat and gets along with our dog and other family members. I often wondered if she was taken from her mother too soon, but since she is the first calico that I have ever had, I wonder if her strange behaviour if because of the breed. If you know, please let me know. Tks!

Both our cats are very fond of 'poking' you with a paw if they want attention. One cat does this with is right arm, the other seems to use her left, now my husband is convinced that we have one right handed cat and one left handed cat! Can someone tell him, please!!!!!!

I have had a house cat for the last 3 months. She was born outside at my house, and we brought her in when she was about 2 or 3 months old. She litter trained easily, and never once used anything but the litter box. Until today. She pooped on a pillow, and it was very watery looking. It didnt look like she would have had to force it out. She has also been acting like she's always hungry. My sister just returned from a week in Belize, and the cat just had surgery about a month ago. Is there any link? What could be wrong with her? Should we call the vet?

My older neutered male cat woke up one day with poor balance and a tendancy to tilt his head in unusual ways. All his bodily functions seem to be normal and he is not in pain. I thought maybe he had a stroke??? If anyone knows a cause for such behavior please let me know. Thank you.
