well I have 2 cats sister and brother. bingbangboom, she is pregnant. We didnt get them fixed quick enough! He is fixed now and she will be if she ever has these babies! My questions are Can a cat go over her due date? I mean she is huge! and by our calculations she should be havng them between last weekend and this weekend. The vet checked her when she came and fixed my male cat and said she looked really good and all. But I am worried she is going to explode. figurativley of coarse. do they perform c-sections on cats? Or can they induce labor? What are some things I can do to help get this show on the road? She has done nothing but lay around for 2 weeks now only moving around to eat and find another spot to lay down! She is very bitchy and only allows my husband to pet her. He has left for 5 days and says she will have them while he is away. She has alot of nesting spots through out the house...when is this going to happen? Please help me help her. and thank you in advance!

We bought our cat (a common red tabby) from the RSPCA when he was (as far as we knew) about 7 years old. He is now very elderly (20) but our vet says he may go on till 23/24. Has this happened to you? We all really love our cat and spend a fortune on vets bills. How long might our cat live?

She is SO obese. When we got her at the Humane Society, she was a 10 lb. Turkish Angora. She is an indoor/outdoor cat. Now she is an extremely fat 20 lb. lazy kitty. I think that she goes to the neighbor's yard and eats the leftover food that they leave outdoors. She refuses to go for walks, even on a harness. They usually turn out to be 'drags'. I've bought about every cat toy there is on the market, seen the vet about diets, and NOTHING works. Please help me, any suggestions?

(Pearl has also succeeded in eating every non-poisonous plant in my garden. I've totally given up on it.)

The neighbors cats are always getting in to my garbage, no matter where i put it, how and what do i do, i've tryed putting out food for them, so now what? I'm sick of it and i'm tired of re bagging my garbage, i shouldn't have too, its not fair. You would think this being something like a dog problem. but i have saw them doing it.

I was cleaning up my yard and placing branches and twigs into my wood chipper when our cat jumped up on the back of the chipper. I tried to move him off but he leaped right into the wood chipper. How do I explain this to an 8 year old?

I am an avid cat lover, and I was wondering how many countries around the world have a ban on declawing cats? Which, by the way, I think is mutilation and cruelty to animals.

Everytime I open my door, my 6 month old kitten tries to fly the coop. How do I convince him that leaving the safe confines of my house is not a good idea?

I have a male kitten, and I am hesitant to get him fixed. I heard it changes their personality and their hormones. I was also thinking how selfish it seems to surgically alter an animal because it's more convenient to us.

How did your pet change after the surgery?

Do any of you have non-fixed pets? Are they ok? How annoying are they?

In our home we have a male cat (about 4 years old) that was neutered as soon as we got him, and a female cat (about 10 months old) who just gave birth to two kittens. (She was a barn cat when we got her, but she loves being a house cat. We hadn't gotten a chance to have her spayed yet). Anyway, since the kittens were born, we've kept the male away from her and the kittens, but some have told me that since he is neutered, he will not have the aggressive reaction that is typical of tom cats. He is very curious about the noises of new kittens coming from the room with the door closed, but we're afraid to leave the door open if we're not watching him because we don't know if he will be aggressive.

I've heard that if you get water in a cat's ear it could go deaf or die, or something. But i wasn't sure if it was true considering how outdoor cats can survive in the rain..

My cat had kittens last night, and did not clean herself sufficiently afterward. The white fur on her back legs is stained a reddish brown color and her fur is matted all over from exerting herself. I thought once she had rested, she would clean herself but she hasn't. I was wondering if it is safe to give her a bath with cat shampoo. My mom told me that it could poison the kittens to wash her with shampoo (it gets on her nipples, and therefore they ingest it while nursing). I'm not sure about this. What do you guys think? I just want her to be a beautiful, majestic mother to her first litter of kittens.
