It could be nothing, but if you're really upset about it or she seems distressed, go into the vet for a checkup. She could have a growth there that may need removing.

I would say, yes it is normal for an inside kittie to become fat, and have excess hanging down. I have quite a few cats, and some have the same problem. Being fat, most likely isn't fun, but it doesn't mean its unhealthy. Exercise for an inside cat is never enough. After a spay, it will take some time for her belly skin to tighten up again.

I have a cat that is the same way (female/spayed/1 yr 9 months old indoor cat). She has that "floppy" thing going with her stomach too (almost like she needs a tummy tuck or something). According to the vet the is nothing wrong with her (plus she is a big cat anyways - about 14 pounds or so)

Actually, when a cat is spayed, it usually will cause the cat to gain some weight, and will almost always cause some saggy skin on their belly. it is perfectly normal, this has been the case with every female cat I have owned.

My vet told me with my black female cat that the saggy tummy was known as a jungle pouch. He said that cats in the wild store up fat so when they are not able to find food readily available they will not starve and will have some reserve on hand.

My cat was the same way after she was spayed. It has been about 2 months since she was done and now she is fine i think the muscles had to tighten up after the surgery. She will be ok.

This is called a fat pad...most all cats have them (if they aren't starved) and it is usually more pronounced in spayed and neutered cats. If it is overly large you can certainly take your baby to the vet.

Yes, normally cats that are fixed, do have a chance of becoming over weight.
