I volunteer for a rescue. I have a hard time finding homes for the black cats. Nobody seems to want them. I am wondering why.

Got to move right away cause my Landlord is having trouble with the house at the bank. Found this awesome, with only 3-4 more days to go before I've got to be out, but they do want cats. Tried to talk new landlord into it, but she's not giving in. Plan not to stay there long because trying for my own place - 3-4 months max. So, would have to find and pay for boarding for my cats. What should I do? Thanks to everyone who responds.

The estimate is that an average cat will kill thousands of birds in its life time, even if it is a well fed house cat. They'll also kill lizards, small snakes and such, thus affecting the local wildlife. Hence, should cat owners who let their cat roam free be responsible for the wanton destruction to wildlife that their cats cause?

Do you think it is cruel to keep a cat permanently indoors? What if it lived indoors from a kitten, don’t cats thrive on being outside. What if you live in a flat, obviously you leave a window open for fresh air but wouldn’t it jump out? This is a first floor window it’s likely to hurt itself. I don’t own a cat just seen this scenario, wondered what you thought.

First off lemme say that my cat is scared of anything that moves on wheels. Be it furniture, suitcases, carts, or your regular motorvehicle. I have taken my cat out on the road once before in a car. He was scared at 1st, but playing with him and comforting him, he was purring on the way back home. I took my cat out another night for a little drive out and we didn't leave for more than 10 minutes when my cat peed in my lap! I was so angry, I stopped the car and was gonna let him go but I saw the scared look on his face and just forgave him, though I did rap him a few times on the head. My question is this though....can I catch anything from being soaked in his pee for nearly an hour???

I adopted an approx 2-yr-old cat. The rescuer that I got him from swears all he ate was Iams Hairball. Well for the first week, he wouldn't touch it. I tried everything, mixing it with a little tuna juice even, balling it up in wet food. He won't touch it. So I tried a few others, no deal. I finally found Whiskas and I'm worried that it isn't good enough for him. What do you think? Should I keep trying others? He has now reached the point where if I give him canned food, he eats it, then it comes up all over the place, so I gave up on that.

I took my cat the the vets last Friday as he was off his food and was quite hot. They gave him some anitbotics. We he responsed to for the first couple of days and now his gone off his food again and im taking him back to the vets tomorrow.

My cat is a housebound cat as it safer for him to stay in doors because of where i live.

Does anyone have any idea on what could be wrong with him?

He was tested for cat leukaemia and aids last year and the blood test result came back normal.

My cats are indoor cats, but every now and then one sneaks outside. It is 4 degrees out right now, and I'm wondering how long it is okay for him to be out there without shelter. I have heard many times that if it is too cold for me, it's too cold for my pets...

My mother cat had a kitten the other day. Heartbreakingly it has now died. Do you know of anything I should/could do for her? She's rather distraught.

i noticed the lumps tonight , there kind of big in size and don't seem to hurt when i touch them. they are sort of hard and solid but squishy and go from his jaw to almost the middle of his neck , and as far back as under his ear.. he is relativly healthy. he's had his first set of shots and was an outside cat until last weekend when we moved to an appartment. he does not seem sick but i know cats are good at hiding their illness. can any one help me

i have 2 house cats at home(no anti rabies shots yets). if they lightly scrapped off my skin using their teeth, do i have rabies? what if they scratched me using their claws, do i have rabies? and when i was eating lunch and left the room, they ate my food and left saliva in my food. when i went back and continued eating and finished my meal thats the only time i noticed they did what they did. do i have rabies? and can i have anti-rabies shots even if i didnt have rabies in the first place, will that have any sideeffects?
