First off lemme say that my cat is scared of anything that moves on wheels. Be it furniture, suitcases, carts, or your regular motorvehicle. I have taken my cat out on the road once before in a car. He was scared at 1st, but playing with him and comforting him, he was purring on the way back home. I took my cat out another night for a little drive out and we didn't leave for more than 10 minutes when my cat peed in my lap! I was so angry, I stopped the car and was gonna let him go but I saw the scared look on his face and just forgave him, though I did rap him a few times on the head. My question is this though....can I catch anything from being soaked in his pee for nearly an hour???

If being peed on is enough to make you want to dump, and then to actually hit your cat you shouldn’t have pets. Or children for that matter, they pee on you a lot more than cats do.
If your cat hates the car…why are you taking it in the car? The obvious solution would to be to leave the cat at home.
On the occasions you have to transport animals in the car they should ALWAYS be suitably restrained for their safety and for yours. This means dogs should have a seatbelt harness, and cats should be in a cat carrier that is properly secured down with a seatbelt.
The chance of having an accident greatly increases when you have a loose animal in the car, and if you have an accident unrestrained animals will not only be killed or injured, they will do a LOT of damage hitting you as they fly through the car.
If a tissue box can kill you in a 60KPH car accident, think of what a flying cat or dog is going to do to you.
…I’ll stop lecturing now and answer your questions, lol.
Unless you have an allergy to cats, cat pee probably won’t hurt you.
It does have a high concentration of ammonia though, so if your skin is uber sensitive, you might get a rash from that.
I’ve been peed on by all my pets (and nephews) and it’s never hurt me.

If she in basic terms began this habit, she might have a bladder an infection. Take her to the vet, and supply her cat food this is counseled for urinary tract wellbeing. If this has been occurring for it sluggish, it can be a behavioral difficulty. Cats will "act out" in the event that they're unhappy approximately something. Do you have a muddle container, and do you hold it sparkling? have self assurance it or no longer, some cats will refuse to share a muddle container with yet another cat. Cats additionally could have an somewhat diverse definition of a "sparkling" muddle container. whether each and all of the lumps are bumped off, they might come to a selection that the muddle has been overly recycled. i've got had puppy cats considering the fact that i grew to become right into a baby, and that i've got come to the tip that cats might desire to spend time outdoors. I genuinely have a cat door and no muddle container. This creates 2 added issues, nevertheless -- different cats attempting to sneak in, and my own cat attempting to deliver me "presents". the answer to the present concern is to grant the cat numerous moist cat food. it variety of feels to quell the urge to seek. the 2nd concern is often solved by technique of chasing the invader off some circumstances. they often get the hint, and actually, i do no longer concepts an occasional focused visitor in the event that they're polite and often scarce.

Other than being uncomfortable, you are not in any danger of catching something from cat urine. Like many animals, including humans, cats will lose control of their bladder when very frightened.
Since your cat is so frightened of vehicles, I would not take it for unnecessary rides in the car. When you do have to take him in the car, use a carrier or large cardboard box to transport him.

Cat pee is harmless, but rather smelly. Why on earth would you be taking a nervous cat out in your car? Let it alone, and dont hit it again.

The cat peed on you because he was scared! My cats never did well in a car. You can't change his personality! I think you'll be fine, as long as your hands didn't touch it then you put your hands in your mouth.

I work at a vet clinic and get urinated on (plus more) a daily basis. You won't catch anything from your cats urine

i don't believe cats unlike dogs enjoy "road-trips", they think it is a roller-coaster or something and freak out sometimes, check the amusement park roller-coaster ride seats or ask the operators, bet they know of many "human" tinkle accidents on the ride, he he

I doubt that you'll catch anything, but now you owe your cat a good golden shower. Just whip it out and hose him down when he least expects it. That'll show him!
