Ok, here is the situation. My male cat goes off everytime cats are outside fighting and they make that weird noise and then he makes it and I made the mistake of moving one time and he bit me on my arm. Last night they were outside fighting again and he made the noise but this time I didn't move, but I am concerned if I have company over he may attack them if they get in his way. BTW, he is a 8 year old male tabby that is neutured and he is a house cat. Any sugguestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a cat almost 1 year old who is in heat. She has been going in and out of heat for the past few months. She will be spayed ASAP. I got a new kitten in late december who was only 2 weeks old (all my cats are rescues) and is now putting her butt in the air, holding her tail to the side, and yowling like my older cat. She just turned 3 months in late February. Is she truely in heat or is she just immitating my older cat?

I'm worried about my cat. She has long hair and, although I brush her every day, there are certain areas she will not let me approach, such as between her back legs. As a result, she has clumps of matted hair there and I just cannot get to them without causing her distress. Yesterday I picked her up, lying her in my arms like a baby, so that I could see that area better and when I touched her lower abdomen, she hissed. She never hisses. Just now I picked her up and gently felt her abddomen but again she let out a terrible hiss, as though she were in pain, so I let her go. What could be wrong with her? I will call the vet tomorrow but does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks..

I have tried many litters and am interested in trying the cat litter crystals. They are expensive but they claim they last longer than regular litter. Has anyone tried them and what did they think? I tried clumping litter, which worked great, but then got trapped in between the pads of my cats feet and we would have sit and pick it out it got so bad (and we found litter everywhere). The good old standard litter is ok, but we have two and they urinate over eachother so in a day a pan of that can get really gross. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts that care to share.

9 yr old siamese male was dianosed with hyperthyroidism - it was quite high...started him on his first 1/2 pill Monday night and half pill AM & PM since (M, T, W, Th). He has been funny acting - not sociable, not meowing, not purring. This morning after his 1/2 pill it was like he had a seizure kind of. He growled and his legs seemed to seize. Got him to vet this afternoon and they are doing an xray right now and thinking he's in heartfailure. I am so upset - could it be the meds? They say probably not - isn't that a bit of a coincidence? Any suggestions - please help - I'm afraid he's going to die. They could barely get a temperature on him....I'm soooo sad.

I have a 17 year old kitty and I am worried about bringing a new cat into the house. I have heard that very old cats can feel rejected and replaced when you introduce a kitten late in life and may stop eating/drinking. A friend of mine's cat actually killed itself that way which worries me. Has that happened to anyone else?

My new cat which is 2 yrs old just won't stop biting and scratching things. I know she just wants to play but it's getting to hard to handle and I don't know what to do. You can't even pet her normally without her trying to claw at your hand or bite you. Any suggestions?

My cat is getting incredibly fussy and with it incredibly skinny. She is 10 years old and weighs about 2.4kg She turns her nose up at nearly all the cat food but will reticently eat a morsel or two a couple of times a day. When we are eating she begs like a dog and will try to pinch food off our plates which she devours regardless of texture (so can't be her teeth). No one has fed her titbits so not got into any bad habits. she stays in virtually all the time and will only venture out to have a wee.She also sniffs out fluff off the carpet and eats that. I am convinced she has an eating disorder. She is wormed and flea treated regularly. Wherever i am in the house she has to be and miaows at me constantly. Sometimes i can get her to eat by sitting next to her and feeding her one piece at a time. What does anyone think is going on Please help with any advice or tips

my cat who's almost 2 years old can be the sweetest thing ive ever encountered in my life. He'll be in my lap purring and drooling -ew- (why does he drool btw?) and then out of NOWHERE he starts to bite me, and NOT playfully, but like he's trying to hurt me. at times he becomes so mean, that i have to call my fiance to come get him, because it seems like he's enjoying scaring me. I dont know if anyone has dealt with a cat like this but i have no idea where these behavor problems come from. ive had him since he was 6wks old and he's always been this way. im currently pregnant and worried that when the baby comes that he might have an urge to attack him/her. hes especially jealous, whenever im doing something that doesnt pretain to him such as reading or watching tv he crawls into my lap and insisits that i focus all my attention on him. Has anyone ever had a cat like this???? and please help. i dont want to get rid of my cat, i love him in spite of his scitzophrenia.
