I have a cat door that goes into the basement (that's where the cat boxes are kept).
The cats play with the door too. They keep pushing it open until the other cat is on the other side batting at them when the door opens.
They are so easily amused!
By the way--------if you live in an area where raccoons and opossums live, those little critters will use the doggy door too.

All our cats go in and out the doggy door.
We'll have to put a stop to it, by buying one of those electronic-collar type doggy doors, so only the dog can go out.
We had one too many cats get out and get mauled by other dogs or possibly coyotes.
The cats knew how to work the doggy door, because we have one that leads into the garage -- where the litter boxes are.

Yea, we've installed "doggy" doors (but we call 'em cat doors) in the kitchen door leading to the hallway the bedrooms branch off of and in another kitchen door that goes to the utility room where their litter box is kept. The doors are usually closed during winter to cut down on the cold draft coming into the kitchen/dining room/living room where we spend most of our waking hours (and to keep the heat from going out into the rooms we aren't using). We got sick of having to open and close, open and close the door each time one of the cats wanted to leave or come back in the rooms. We can even put the lock on the little doors so the cats can't leave (or come in)--like when they are going to the vet and we don't want them hiding all over the place.

I had a cat that would play fetch with a scrunchy . We also had him trained to flush the toilet though he didn't really flush it cause it takes quite a force for a cat to actually pull down the lever .We would keep this hat on the door nob of our door in the bedroom and anytime he would want to go to the bathroom he would make it tap against the door to wake us up so he could go to the litter box . The coolest cat ever .

Of course he does! Cats like to go out too, and certainly are smart enough to figure out the doggy door.

you will be able to ought to thoroughly block off the domestic dog door. many people have canines yet don't have domestic dog doorways and in a roundabout way they get alongside with out them. You and the canines will alter. BTY, small canines should not be allowed to pass outdoors with out supervision in a community the place there are coyotes, in spite of if this is merely "on occasion." this is a tragedy waiting to happen.

Cats are so sweet. My Gracie has a little trick she does. I keep a paper plate on the floor in the den, near our couches. When we are sitting there, she will come up and tap the plate for a "goodie"...if we are not quick enough, she practically stomps on it!
