Did you recently have her spayed? If you've just gotten her, or even gotten her within the past few months, they shave the area where the fur would be on the abdomen, and it takes FOREVER to grow back! My cat had a huge patch on her and they had spayed her. It took about 9 months to finally start growing in.

Did she have kittens? Maybe it could be a nursing issue...

Is it around a nipple? She might have a problem with that, but I wouldn't think it's an infection if it's not red or irritated.

Speaking of irritation, does it look inflamed or painful? Does she give that spot on her more attention than normal? Do you notice any odd grooming behaviors that may contribute to this? Does she go outside and perhaps lay somewhere that would cause the fur to rub off? Is she eating any differently?

It's really important to pay attention to ALL signs of cat behavior since the little lovelies can't tell us what's wrong. Regardless, they can still SHOW us what's the matter, we just have to pay closer attention.

I'd really suggest taking her to the vet and telling him/her everything you observed, that way the vet will have more knowledge about whatever the condition may or may not be.

Let me know what happens! =)

Go get a biopsy. It could be cancer, or it could be just a scar or a birthmark, but you will feel better once you know. Is she spayed? When female cats are not spayed, they are more susceptible to mammary tumors, but they are usually in the form of a lump, and it is usually when they are 7 years or older.

Ringworm? Is the spot round? Have access to an ultra-violet light? If it's ringworm, the spot will "glow" under ultra-violet light rays. Time for the vet's office.

It could be ringworm.
If the area is sensitive to the cat, take her into the vet just to make sure it isn't an infection of some kind.

I don't think it really is anything to be alarmed about right now. But, keep an eye on it to see if it does get bigger or if it changes color. If you see that it is changing color and getting bigger, or if your cat starts to bite it a lot. Then it would be time to consult a veterinarian.

Take her to the vet-it could be fungal-like ringworm or something similar.
