She puts up such a fight. It would be sooo much easier if I could put her to sleep first. Would 1/4 of an otc sleeping pill hurt her? I don't want to harm her at all, just clip her claws without causing an international incident! I've tried wrapping her in a towel, holding her close... nothing works... and I have the scars to prove it. Meanwhile she is getting her claws stuck in things, clawing up the furniture and slicing me open everytime I try to pet her. Please help!

My 2 5 month old kittens are getting neutered Thursday morning. When I set up the appointment, I was advised to not give food the night before and water the morning before. How far ahead of time does that mean the food should be taken away? Also, the appointment is at 8 am, and I probably will only be getting up at around 7:30 am. That means they will only be deprived of water for 30 minutes. Is this long enough?

I have the flu now, and my cat is sleeping with me at night?
How come this is possible? She is sensing that I feel bad? Another question that I have is, why does she like getting into plastics, like Wal-mart bags? It is a bad habit for me to have to always take away the plastic so she doesnt choke.

I am moving to a one-bedroom apartment. My parents have an out-door cat that has always lived outdoors/in the garage, never indoors. She is 12 years old. Would she be upset moving to a new place, my new apartment, and being kept entirely indoors? She would be alone frequently but I don't know if that would matter since she is alone often now. Also, would a cat make an apartment smell if it is not a big apartment? Is a bad idea to try to make this cat move?

I have a programmable thermostat. I know it will save energy to set it lower while at work during the day, but am wondering how much lower considering I have two cats. Do cats tolerate slightly lower temperatures than I do since they have fur or will I be making them miserable?

I was moving from MA to MN and wanted to find a new home for Chloe my cat. My ex wanted to keep Chloe so she wouldn't have to go to a strange place. Six months later Chloe is acting up with Luke, the 15 year old cat that is my ex's. Chloe was brought to the vet for tests to see what is wrong with her. (she is two now)
My ex wants me to give *courtesy* money for the vet bill. Any amount of the $170 I want to pay. What do you say I should do? I feel the ex is not going to put this toward the vet and let that bill go for now. She doesn't have a lot of money but shops on ebay for posters and t-shirts from her favorite singer. I believe that is where the money will go to. What do you think? I never would have brought Chloe to the vet for doing what 2 year old cats do.

Elvis (7) is pooing in the bath all the time (it's driving me mad + making me sick too!!). He has a perfetly clean litter box that he always usually uses, so I don't understand why. He's also been a bit vomitty too (orangey colour from his food, all over the house). I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow, but wondered if anyone might know in the meantime what his problem may be. He usually stays inside all day while we're at work, as he hates going outside - but that last couple of days I've had to put him out so as I don't come home to any suprises... Any ideas

I am against on declawing my cat: though I have tried the claw caps and they do not help much, I still do not want to give up on finding a solution. My cat is hyper-active, She ruined pretty much most of the furniture of my house, and She normally eats the claw caps...does anybody know another way to avoid declawing? any help will be very appreciated...thanks!
