The owner of 3 cats. One female two males. Either will do. Females are more expensive to fix. Otherwise, they are the same loves. All are cuddly. The female is half the size of the males and she is the boss. It is funny. I vote for a pair.

I presume you mean neutered male or female?

I've had about ten of each in my lifetime, and here's my take:

The neutered male cats I've had have been the most overtly, outgoingly friendly. Every single one of them has been a sweety, and the males are the ones who are most likely to do something like head-butt me, give me effusive raspy kitty kisses with their tongues, put their front paws on me to get my attention, jump onto countertops to be close to me, and otherwise overtly express affection.

The females I've had tend to be more understated, a bit less lavish in exhibitions of affection, but are more likely to come and quietly curl up next to me on the bed or on the couch. And they do show affection, make no mistake, they roll on their backs to have tummies rubbed and give kittie kisses too, just not as enthusiastically as male cats do.

The males tend to be more physically playful and active, the females more quiet and retiring. I love 'em both.

Why not get one male and one female kitten, and have the best of both worlds?

Just like with humans the female ones are a bit inferior.

Males' tend to be more affectionate. Mine (Patches) seems to always want to be with me.

Females like to be alone, by themselfs. They are independent. Mine (Samantha) always wants to be left alone.
