Sweet talking is the right phrase! Poppy's "speech" always sounds like a cross between a far-off eagle cry and a squeak. Sophie is very verbal, but when she wants to get brushed, you would NOT believe the baby noises she makes.
She does the same thing when she wants more food, although more often she'll go sit by her bowl, toss her head and mrow at me. It's the cutest thing.

ALL the time! His dinner time is 11pm because if I feed him in the am, he will get me up at 4am! He starts yipping for food around 10 but does not get fed until 11. He will also beg for more dry food even though there is some on the plate, but it doesn't cover the plate entirely. They are like kids, give in once and they have you trained.

All of the time! My cat will mak his eyes really big and 'tap' my leg to get my attention. Then he meows in a really high pitched tone. He tries to be as cute as possible so I will feed him more. It backfires though- I end picking him up and give him hugs and kisses instead! He's too cute.

My Butter always talked to me as soon as I got home from work or school. One night when I got in from school, he actually sang to me. I have witnesses. He meowed for a minute or more before taking a breath...and I mean mmmeeeowwwww. Not meow, meow, meow....
I always fed him when I got home anyway. He was bigger than me. God, I miss him but I still dream about him.

my cat, will sit beside me a give me a little poke with his paw, then let out a tiny meow, trying to be a baby(he's 7yrs old)
and if i ignore him,he will poke again then let out a meow a little louder,
and if i still ignore him he will slowly inch closer until he is siting on my lap.

oh, yes...my kitty is a little spoiled beggar, wants more food, wants my food, wants outside, wants to help me paint in my studio, (i don't let her, i don't want her injesting the paint, can't be good for her furry little self). she's very serious about her lap time, too and get rather verbal when she thinks i ought to sit and read so she can be in my lap.
