Recently my cat died and I was thinking of gutting it and stuffing it. I would have someone else do it but I am really low on money and really want to see Fluffy around. I'm a single guy and all I really have these days are my cats.

I have a 10 year old persian cat called Sinatra. Since just before Xmas he has been sick almost every night. I've tried changing his food, starving him for 24 hours and giving him chicken and rice, we've been to the vets and he's had blood tests which didn't show anything unusual so the vet gave him an injection to stop the vomitting. First one was a 14 day one, which worked - no sickness for 2 whole weeks. On day 15 he started being sick again, so back to the vets who then gave him an injection that should have lasted a month. That was last Thursday, but on Monday night he started being sick again and has been sick every night since then. I feed him on Whiskas pouches with a small amount of dried food for him to nibble on. He doesn't go out, has been wormed, he's still likes to play and as soon as he's been sick he goes to eat some more. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I just don't know what to do next.

I guess "chattering" isn't exactly the best way to describe it, but this morning I heard this weird clicking noise and I looked over at my cat to find that his teeth were bared, he was moving his mouth and making this weird clicking noise while looking out the window. My Mom's cat does the same thing sometimes. They are both tabbies, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Ideas?

He usually goes in the litterbox but sometimes, at night, usually between 3 and 6 in the morning, we will hear him scratching and realize that he'd peed on yet another article of clothing. His litterbox is clean and he has plenty of food and water. We give him lots of attention and love but this problem is driving us insane.

My girlfriend and I recently purchased new couches. My girlfriend has suggested declawing the cat however I object to declawing the cat. I find it to be incredibly cruel. I have learned how to trim his nails. Should I get him declawed? Why or why not?

I have had my aprox,8wk old kitten for 4 days and he gets lots of love and attetion, however, he has been purring for about 2 days now and although he tries to meow, nothing comes out.
He has given a little squeak when i had to hold him to clear muck form his eye, but there has been nothing more.
I though it was his age but i have been searching on answered questions and the common theme is that he should be meowing by now all being well with him.
Any sensible answers gratefully recieved

I have a 5 month old female kitten who I rescued as a stray about 3 months ago. Lately she walks around the house at like 4am meowing for no reason!! I leave my bedroom door opened and so does everyone else in the house. I can't lock her in my room during the night because I don't think it's fair to her. When I hear her meowing, which is EVERY NIGHT I call her and usually she'll come running like she didn't know where I was. And trust me the house is NOT big at all so I know she doesn't get lost. Does anyone has an answer as to why she does this or any suggestions on how to stop it?
Thanks

Our 14 year old cat was very sick and we had to make the very hard decision last night to end his suffering. How soon is too soon to get another cat?? He was an 'only child' as we do not have any human kids. The house just seems so empty now. :-(

At my house, my dad and I have a grand total of 3 cats. Each cute and individual and we couldn't live without them. The oldest and the middle one are very affectionate and love it when we give them "the brush". The youngest, however, is not so affectionate. She's about 2 and a half years old now and she runs away whenever any of us come near her. The only time she seems to be affectionate is when we feed her breakfast or dinner. Any other time when she's sitting alone in the middle of the living room and we come near her to try and pet her, she runs away. If we bribe her with food, she gets suspicious and doesn't come near the food until we leave the food and are a good 20 feet away. She sometimes sits in the middle of the living room right before everyone goes to bed and meows loudly (a tradition our middle cat used to do for attention) but when we go to her, she, as usual, runs away. What should I do?

I guess this is also to inform everyone of this possibility. We had outdoor kittens this summer that all ran into a horrible thing. They all ended up with a grub that is the larva of a Rodent Bot Fly. The fly lays its eggs in a type of webbing in the grass. It is meant for rabbits, but if a cat runs through it, they will get it. They inhale the egg and the grub eats its way through the throat to make a breathing hole. It eats the tissue around that area for nutrients, then, when ready, it falls out & turns into a fly. The cat usually survives it naturally, but, sometimes the grub has to be pulled out and the wound has to be taken care of. My kitten was particularly lucky. His went to his nose instead of his throat - it was eating his brain & had destroyed his nasal cavity. The lucky part is that most animals that had the grub in their nose have died. The grub can't fall out b/c the it sucks it back in. Mine was the first that the lab heard of surviving it. Any of these cases where u r?

My parents brung him from philadelphia because he was sick with the cold and wanted him to stay with us to get better about a month ago. He appeared fine after a few days, then my sister found him dead under a table in the back of our house and his nose and left eye was bleeding. We were trying to look for him for over a week, we thought maybe he ran away. plus i got a new cat is it possible that the new cat poked his eyes out? but when we saw him before he died he didn't want to interact with the other pets eat or drink. my parents are blaming my new cat and want me to get rid of him help!

I have recently started work at a vet clinic. A large part of my responsibility concerns working with cats - cleaning their cages, holding them for blood work/nail clippings, etc. However, I am very fearful of cats, and have a problem handling them. I really want to be a vet, and I want to get over my fear. How can I do this? The other vet techs depend on me to be comfortable with cats, or else they might suffer, and I don't want to let them down.

My girlfriends sisters cat seems stressed out, she is meowing a lot, and is lying prone with her back arched and is shuffling her feet left and right. Her mouth is slightly open at times. She is able to move around and jump from surface to surface though.

She is a house cat, so it could not be that she was hit by a car.

Any ideas what all the fuss is about?

My problem is that every night around 4 or 5 in the morning he comes upt on my pillow and plunks himself on my face & kisses or licks whatever ,non stop until I have to push him off the bed . This lasts for about 5 minutes then he is back at it . Why does he do this ? And how can I stop it so I can sleep ? I will not close my bedroom door at night , so forget it . Help Sleepless!

p.s. she's not in heat so no problem with getting pregnant and they're both getting neutered on Monday but she's finding it distressing being jumped all the time by him and is having to hide in tiny unconfortable places!
I've tried playing with him lots but he keeps getting bored and running off to try and find her!!
