Does he have any scratches on him like he was in a fight? If he was in a fight he could have been scratched in the eye. Or he could have scratched his eye going through bushes. Either way the vet will probably do an eye stain (or at least they should) to see if there are scratches to the lens. Depending on if there is a scratch that effects what meds can be used. If your vet says there is a scratch make sure you DO NOT PUT STEROIDS ON IT. We had a cat that the vet prescribed steroid drops to and after having the cat on it for two weeks and then bringing it to us we had to surgically remove the cats eye because the steroids make the scratches worse. If he says it is an infection or something else and prescribes steroid drops you should be ok.

That would be my first guess as to whats wrong based on what info you have given, but it could be something else like a disease or something. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. I hope this helps.

Maybe he has allergies or an eye infection. Glad to see your a responsible pet owner that realizes he needs to see a vet.

sounds like he may have an injury to the eyes! have it checked out before infection sets in or he can lose an eye!
