No food or water after midnight. Don't give anything the morning of the surgery. The anesthesia can cause vomiting in pets who have eaten. Then you have an entirely different problem to worry about after surgery.

Depends on where in the world you are in relation to the water.
Food, take the food away when you go to bed and if you have fed them wet food the water as well.
However, if you are in the southern hemisphere (Australia, etc) and it is a hot night, like we have been having, leave water out for the kittens. The last thing you need are dehydrated kittens.
As a previous person said, the kittens wont be going into surgery straight way most likely. Most vets do the desexing later in the morning or early afternoon.

Take food up by midnight the night before and take the water away when you get up. They wont be taken to surgery as soon as they arrive at the vets they will be held for a few hours before the actual surgery. Good luck!

I was told no food after midnight. If you're not getting up until 7:30, I'd leave only a small amount of water out, so it will all be consumed (hopefully) before morning.

Give the little guys a good meal right before you go to bed. Preferably some quality canned meat. Then they won't need the water which should also be pulled when you go to bed.
The water is just as dangerous as food when the cats undergo anesthesia and they won't need to drink if they have had some nice moist meat at bedtime.

I say take the water and food from him when you go to bed . It is best to wait at least that long . I gave my cat a little bit of water before I left for his appointment , just enough to wet his mouth .

If I remember right my cat did not have food or water from 8:00 PM the night before onward. I suggest that you give the vet a call and ask them though. Good luck!
PS: Keep the garbage can away from them and close the toilet seat. They may try to forage for themselves in the meanwhile.

I don't see why you can't ask your vet, who can give you a definitive answer.
Anyway, my 10-year-old had a mastectomy Monday morning. My appointment card said no food or water after 6 p.m. Sunday.

Double check with your vet, but my cat couldn't have food or water for 8 hours. I just took her food and water bowl away before I went to bed..
