Elvis the Cat not well...?

Question

Elvis (7) is pooing in the bath all the time (it's driving me mad + making me sick too!!). He has a perfetly clean litter box that he always usually uses, so I don't understand why. He's also been a bit vomitty too (orangey colour from his food, all over the house). I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow, but wondered if anyone might know in the meantime what his problem may be. He usually stays inside all day while we're at work, as he hates going outside - but that last couple of days I've had to put him out so as I don't come home to any suprises... Any ideas

Thanks. I think it may be a fur ball maybe as it's summer and he's losing a lot of fur... then again there are a LOT of lizards in the garden which I'm sure he been snacking on as well. Will find out tomorrow I guess.

I say it's a good thing you're taking him to the vet. Sometimes the reason cats stop using their litter box is because they're having some sort of urinary tract or maybe bowel problem. They come to associate pain with using the litter box. The vomiting may be a sign of hairballs. The vet can advise you about these things, for sure. Good luck with your poor kitty!

In general cats are usually very clean pets, so deficating in the tub may be Elvis' way of telling you he is not well. Vomiting is usually a symptom of something as well, so I think it is a very good idea to get him a medical exam and make sure all is well. Good Luck.

Cats do not like water, so keep water in the bottom of the tub for about a week.I had the same problem, and that worked for me. Keep showing him his litter box, when you see him go in there...I like his name.

Sorry! Maybe his name is making him sick! I am not an elvis fan. Maybe he is getting a cold or an upset stomach.
