Please, Please, PLEASE search online for a cat rescue in your area. The overpopulation of cats is just terrible and leaves so many homeless and with no options, they become feral wild things that no one can deal with.
A note of advice though - only contact rescues who have a telephone number that you may call them direct.
Don't be put off by the idea of rescue - they will have plenty of kittens, I assure you! Good luck!!!

I know you say you have "no money", but does that really mean ZERO??? Most animal rescues or shelters will charge a NOMINAL fee for spaying/neutering and vaccines, which are things you MUST do to be a responsible pet owner.
You CAN find free kittens during kitten season (think April) in front of grocery stores or in the paper, but you would be better off taking a rescue cat or kitten and paying the fee..........usually less than $100. It is totaly irresponsible to get an animal that you can't pay for, so if you can't afford the $100 adoption fee, you DEFINITELY can't afford to get shots and altering on your own, and should wait...........

Go to petfinder.com
Not only do they have a listing of all the shelters in your area but there is also a classifieds section that shows lost and found pets. Put in your area info and check the found pets section. You might also want to post something in the lost section as well.
Adoptions usually cost some money, however. Try the classifieds section of petfinder.com to see if anyone is giving one away.
Also, I don't know if you intended for your parents to do to official adopting but most places won't adopt out to a person of your age. It's best to get someone over 25 to do so.

Either try the local animal shelter and see if they have any kittens. and if not keep an eye out in the newspaper because someone is always trying to give kittens and puppies away for free because they are mixed breed. But it really doen't matter unless you are going to show the cat in cat shows. Best cats are Hienz 57 cats, just like best dogs are Hienz 57 dogs.

Go to shelters, humane society, look for ads in the paper. Lots of people give away free kittens and cats all of the time. If you went with a shelter, they would have it fixed and all shots done for you. Many shelters tho, do charge a fee for adopting a pet from them. That is what your fee covers, the spay/neuter and the shots. Good luck, hop you find that dream kitty of yours soon! : )

No problem. Lots of times your local newspaper will list ads for free pets in the classified section. Depending on where you live, there can be lots of ads. Where I live, we have a county based classified paper with all different ads ranging from used cars to yard sales. So you can check there too if you have one of those. And 99% of the time, the people will offer to give you 2 just so they can get rid of them. Hope that helps!!

Usually there are "free kitten" ads in newspapers all the time, or consider adopting a homeless one from your local shelter. There are many kitties, and dogs, too, who are desperate for a good home. Good luck!
