I'm starting University next week and need leave my apartment that I share with my boyfriend as the university is about 7 hours from my house. I have a 1 year old Russian Blue cat that lives inside and his is very much a mummy's boy. He's going to stay with my boyfriend during the semester and i'll see them both when I come back home during the holidays. I'm worried that beacuse i'll be gone for a few months my beautiful cat will forget who I am.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Do cats forget their owners??

Well, I've got a 5.5 months old female kitten, shorthair. She hasn't been spayed yet but I doubt it has anything to do with what my question concerns. She weighs 3.5 lbs and it's normal for a kitten her age, I checked... but it worries me that even though she eats a lot (and I do mean a lot, about a small can of wet food and 1-2 small bowls of dry food) and drinks enough (sometimes I give her lactose free 2% milk too), she still looks very skinny. Not like starving skinny but skinny. Her ribs aren't showing but when I run my finger over them, I can feel them well under her fur. She does run around a lot and expends energy (she's an indoor kitty) but I guess I'm just worried. The vet didn't seem to think it was a problem at all. Am I right to be concerned?

My cat Jack is about 9 months old and is the cutest thing ever. As he is getting older he seems to be getting crazier and crazier. He has numerous toys and a scratching tower as well as a cat tree and I play with him atleast an hour a day, so I can't figure out why he is so bad with clawing me and my boyfriend. He literally will jump on our heads claw them then run away. It's getting to a point where neither of us can leave the house without a new scratch and as much as I would hate to do it, I'm thinking the only way for us to live with him and not lose an eye would be to declaw him. Does anyone have any suggestions?????? P.s. we do have the squirt bottle but he runs away before we can spray him. Help!!!!

just this morning, my cat started howling and meowing. He cant go to litter box and is leaking urine. When he leaks, he meows and almost growls (as if in some pain) Roads are blocked off and all unnecesary travel is not allowed because of a recent snow storm. Is this a serious problem or will it just pass on its own?????
please help as i love my kitty very dearly... =(

if any further information is needed then put it in your answer and i will add details or email me and i will provide them quickly...i just want to help my cat!

Usually, my cat (neutered male, about 7/8 y.o, adopted about 5 years ago) is rather noisy - doesn't wail, but makes himself heard if he wants something. However for almost a week now, he has taken on a pitifully weak miaow. He is still eating, and looks in good condition. The kitchen is being redecorated, but this souldn't be a problem for him, as over the five years there has been quite a bit of renovation. Any ideas why he has gone quiet?

There is a kitten I want to adopt, but I already have 2 cats and a dog. Someone said 3 is the limit. Is it different for people living on farms? I really want this kitten, we have bonded already and I'd be sad to see him go in a home. (I know it sound selfish, but I love him which is not good lol) Thanks for your help!

My cat just had a contraction (Yes we are getting her fixed soon after she has her kittens) Usually, when cats have a contraction, how long is it until the kittens are born? Thank you so much for all your help! :-)

my 3 year old brother is laying down for a nap. not asleep just yet. Our cat goes over to him and lays accross his body. my brother gives a aggrivated grown and says the cat is to heavy. he jiggles his body to make the get off but the cat does not get up. my brother pulls the fur on its back and it twiches its back but still dont get off him. my brother pulled his fur 2 more times but the cat still layed on top of him. I finally went over and shoved the cat off of him.

our cat has done this 2 more times since. what is wrong with our cat?

I have had cats and kittens around my whole life but I have never encountered anything like these two nor has anyone I know. The male is always breaking things, tareing my plants apart, everywhere he is not supposed to be and no matter how I try to disipline him he continues. The female isn't as bad but she does follow his lead. I am home alot and give them lots of love they have lots of toys and things to play with . I just can't get them to "mind". ???

I have two cats and both of them started sneezing like crazy the other day. I just got over a cold so I thought maybe I gave it to them?!?!? Not sure if that was possible or not. Is there anything that I can do for them?

My family has an outdoor cat because a few of us are allergic, but when it snows my two younger step sisters insist the cat needs to be brought inside or it will die. Cats are warm blooded are they not? and their fur coat helps keep them warm in the winter? so does it really need to be brought inside?
