My cat is always getting into stuff and never listens..we constantly scream NO at him, always move him away from places we don't want him to be, smack his butt (not hard so don't get on my case for animal abuse), i've tried squirting him with a water bottle..(go figure..he loves it)..i don't know what else to do..he's only 7 months old, will getting him fixed change his attitude that much? I plan on getting him fixed soon..i'm scared i won't want to put up with him if he keeps acting this way and i'll want to give him away..any help would be appreciated..thanks

I bought a cat from a breeder in Russia and he was shipped to me in California... At the breeders, he "ruled the roost", was very playful, and slept in the breeder's bed. At his new home with me, he hides under the bed all day every day except to go potty and eat. If I so much as move he runs and hides. He seems very skiddish. I wonder if this will get better or if he's going to be an under-the-bed nervous cat. He won't let me near him :( He's 10 months old too! Is this from the transition or is this how he's going to be??? It's been 2 weeks :(

My mother's 3 year old male cat has been missing for the past 4 days. Kitty is fixed and often goes in and out of the house. The longest he's ever been gone is a day and I think the GA weather has been good, but stormy.

Mom is a BASKET case and worried sick. She can't take any kind of emotional upheaveal and has been crying her eyes out.

How likely might it be that Kitty is simply "catting" around? A friend said her cat went missing for a week and then came home.
Is this normal behavior for a male cat?

Kitty is my eldery mother's best companion and her first pet.

They are 5 years old and have always been the best buddies. They went to the vet 10 days ago and have been on amoxicillin for red/swollen throats. Gracie has been hissing and growling at Alex since then....she almost seems afraid of him. At first I thought it was because they were sick, but they've been better for 4 days now so I don't know what is going on with her. To try to get them used to each other again I rubbed them both with Feliway a few times with no luck. I've also rubbed one with a cloth and then rubbed the other with it. Still no luck. Desperate, I gave each one a water only "butt bath". No change. Alex is a very sensitive, sweet boy (closing in on 20 lbs. part Maine Coon) and seems sad that his sister hisses and growls every time she sees him and won't have anything to do with him. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can help get them back to being buddies?

My cat's paws are badly dried out and crackly for some reason and I was wondering if there is a paw cream or something I can put on his paws to make them smooth again. my other cat doesn't have this problem. (my cat is white in color; if that makes a difference) Is this a serious problem?

A month ago, we moved into a house. We are caring for the landlords cat, as it would have been difficult to rehome her. She's 17 years old, but in great condition (a little bit skinny maybe). The landlord did mention that she had had stomach problems in the past, and to keep feeding her the same food (we have been doing this) or she might throw up any food shes not used to.

The problem is, she has stopped burying her poos when she goes to the toilet in the garden! One area of garden is rocky, and she goes on top of the rocks. There is plenty of garden area that is dirt, but she doesn't bury it there either! Even when the dirt is freshly weeded & raked, therefore soft to dig in.

Why is she not burying it? What can we do to get her to start burying again? The yard is starting to smell!

Ok. Whenever I sit down on my couch, my cat always comes up above me and starts nipping and biting at my hair. Why does she do this? Please don't say take her to the nearest vet. And I know it isn't the shampoo i am using because she does it to my friend and we use different shampoos.

I'm getting a white male kitty tommorow. I have a cat named Phil, and I want a name for the new kitty so it would sort of match with Phil. (Like Phil and Jonathon don't sound good together.) Thanks for help!

I have a cat, her name is Jenna, who had babies 2 weeks ago and they were all still born, and she seemed very sad about it, always running upstairs to look for them, meowing, etc. (i was devistated too) she got better and stuff, but my other cat, Zowie, gave birth to 3 baby kittens today.i seperated the mother and kittens in a seperate room, but the mom can get out.. now my problem is, Jenna is trying to take over as the mom .. her nipples are still a little big but i am not sure if it is safe for the kittens to nurse off of her. (its almost like she is trying to steal the babies.) Zowie, the mom, is takin care of them fine, but this accures when zowie leaves(even though she has food, litter and water right there)...is it safe for Jenna to be around the kitten? Zowie seems fine with this, but i am not sure....Feel please to email if you want more details..

I post a couple questions before about my cat but just to give some background info. I got him in April, he was thrown out of a moving vehilce on the side of the road with his 2 sisters in a garabe bag, and they have all gotten good homes now. He has been to the vet and hase been neutered, and given a claen bill of health, but he still acts strange. He wont sleep unless you give him a black garage bag to sleep in.Sometimes he goes into these seizer type modes where he will sitck his head under his body grab his back feet fall over and then shake for about 10 minutes. And he scratches at the floor around his food dish for a few minutes before he eats. He does the same with his water dish but then he sticks his feet in the dish scoups out the water shakes off the water then licks it off the floor. He does this 4 times before he will actually drink the water(even when he drinks he still scratches at the floor). He seem to be happy and healtyh otherwise. Does anyone have any insite?

I find most cat lovers are textbook mentally sick and should probably be hospitalized. Look at some of the responses to these questions. I have found cat lovers value their cats more than human life or basic humanity. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmZIf3yYW4P9JllgfVoGbh4jzKIX?qid=20070118072906AAkeyuV http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhCSr5a9_MJvR1QF0BIJTnLsy6IX?qid=20070211142535AAIS2F5
Cats are nothing but a nuicence. The do NOTHING of any bennefit to anyone. They kill anything smaller than it, even their own. They are so unloyal its funny. Take care of a dog and he's your friend for life. If you are feeding your lifelong pet cat Foodlion cat food and the neighbor puts out purina...You just lost your cat. They are the worst of all the rodents! Do cats make people mentally unstable or do mentally unstable people flock to cats like for some form of acceptance?

My kitten is 6 months old and has been losing his teeth, he also has loose teeth bothsides further back in his mouth and the gums look sore. he has been to the vet and he said they should come out soon. But i was worried as he is not eating as much as normal, would this really affect his eating? when he does eat he seems to go for the dry food, which i thought it would hurt more?

have had the same cat since he was a kitten(he'll b 9 in march), he became and outdoor cat about 5 yrs ago and he loves it! He has the best personality and i love him more than any other animal i've ever had, i would never think about getting rid of him. Just last january I got a female cat who was 8 when we got her she just turned 9. She's afraid of everyone and totally loves me and always wants to be with me. But, I'm the only one she'll b around and she never comes downstairs. Just an hour ago I held her while I was near my mom and she got scared and jumped on me and scratched me across my face.I know she's bonded with me but I just dont love her like i love my outdoor cat.

I feel so horrible because i wouldnt mind trading her in for another cat. But, i would never live with myself after that because she was living with an old lady for the beginning part of her life but then was put in foster homes until we adopted her and she was very unstable Am i bad 4 not loving her that much?

My cat has been quite moody since last night. She wont sleep with me or even be bothered where I am concerened. She sits by the window with her back to me.Or when she cant stand my presence ( i think), she moves to the landing. My aunt said it may be that she is having her periods. But do neutered cats have periods? And if so, for how long? Do they bleed like we do? Or do they have hormones like women do? I am just trying to understand her sudden mood swings.
