Hi! Every morning, after my alarm goes off and sometimes before, my cat will start repeatedly meowing. I've tried feeding him and even bringing him to the bed and petting him, but as soon as it's over he runs away and starts the meowing again. I like to hit my snooze alarm a time or two, so this is driving me nuts. I live in a one room apartment, so there's no keeping him out of the room. Can anyone help? Real answers only please- no mean suggestions about killing him. Thanks!!

details: his food and water are in my room, he's always fed before bed and played with so he sleeps most of the night. I can't put him outdoors, he's an indoor cat strictly. I've tried the water gun technique, but at that stage of the morning, it's pretty impractical, because there's no suprising him with it. Just wanted you to know the situation! Thanks again!

My cat regularly gets hairballs that come out of either end. She loathes being groomed so I do it once a fortnight (she's short-haired). We give her Katalax when it gets too bad (as recommended by the vet.) I don't like resorting to medication, particularly as I'm loathe to take medication myself and was wondering if anyone knew of a homeopathic solution. I groom her with a love glove and a soft brush.

Do you have any experience with this breed? How big can they grow and generally speaking how do they behave? Can it be left to its own devices for upto 9 hours a day?

When I whistle a tune, my cat comes running to me with dialated pupils and she just stares at me. Why is she so transfixed by the sound of my whistles? My guess is that something about the pitch of a whistle tingles something in the cat. Similar to a dog whistle? Or maybe she thinks I'm a bird. Lol. :)

My wife and I are planning for our pure bred siamese, Florence to have kittens this year and will keep the male from the litter. I think Elvis would be the perfect name. Anyone agree?

We use co-op own brand lightweight, which she likes and we can afford. Her paws get very brown and she cant seem to get them clean, regardless of how often she washes them. She then leaves footprints everywhere. Can anyone think of an alternative that she wouldn't turn her nose up at or a suggestion where we can stop her getting brown paws. (She's a house cat so please don't suggest going outside.)

I am about to give birth, i am due in 3 weeks and i have a cat that i LOVE so much, he is def spoiled and i would NEVER think about giving him away because of the baby. why do people have to do this? How can you just love your pet and so easily get rid of them before even knowing how they will react to the baby. I love my unborn baby and care about her wellbeing but i am so worried about how my cat is going to react, i think the baby will be fine, it's my cat im worried about! it's too bad that cats have such a bad rep with pregnant women and babies. I know this isnt really a question but i had to vent after reading a question about getting rid of a cat because she is having a baby in 2 months.

My friend has a beautiful pedigree cat which has started eating and sleeping at the local nursing home. My friend, when she found out, asked the nursing home not to let the cat in and certainly not to feed it. The manager just told my friend to cat proof her garden. What can she do? her cat is adored by her family and well cared for. but how can she stop the nursing home stealing her cat. Does she have any rights in law?

... lol no, I'm NOT going to do it, but I HAVE done it in the past when I was fairly young (think eleven or twelve years old,) thinking a new 'do would look cute on my kitty. I'm now curious, as I knicked them down fairly short. Would that have been a problem for him?

I am going to have a baby in two months, and I have to give my cat to my parents until the baby is older, maybe two years. My cat knows my paretns, she seems them often, she has been in their house overnight several times, she really likes it there. She has her playing spots, and my parents love her and she loves them. I feel really worried, if the cat will be ok with her new homw and lifestyle. Will she adapt fast? Do I have to go visit her often? How is this transition going to work out for her?

Because that's what is starting to happen to our long haired cat. Or is she finally realizing she has mats in her fur and is pulling them out? A large clump of matted fur is hanging off one side of her at the moment. On the other side smaller clumped matts are starting to come away from the skin. She is 13 years old. She has also started throwing up almost everything she eats for the past 2 years, we took her to a vet but they said to just try another food. So far nothing has worked 100% and she still throws up at least 4 times a week. We know this can't be good for her but we don't know what else to do.

I think my cat is retarded. She meows at the wall while sitting so close to it that her nose it touching it. And everytime she comes close to a plastic bag from the market, she licks it, sometimes for hours. Is my cat retarded or is this "normal" cat behavior?

My cat was declawed a little more than a month ago, before i get critized it was either declaw or get rid of her, on my mothers orders. and I tried all the alternatives, scratching posts, soft paws, etc. She is literally licking her paws apart, I took her back to the vet about 2 weeks ago when it started, he gave her medicine and said they were healing.... now she is back to it again. She just constantly licks her paws, and now they are once again bloody and gross. She is walking normal and they dont really seem to be hurting her, but I know when I take her back to the vet hes going to do the same treatment, and I'm sure i'll end up back there in a couple weeks. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I can do to stop her, and try to heal them?
