Indoor cats are going to shed because of the dry heat. My vet suggested increasing Vitamin E. You can buy it in a liquid form especially for animals. Gracie wouldn't have anything to do with it. I even tried putting it in a little bit of tuna juice, she knew it was in there and wouldn't touch it. So, I just brush her almost every day, and keep lint rollers in the house. Also might try putting towels in her favorite Laying spots. They are easy to pick up, shake out side and toss in the washer.

Get your kitty into the sunshine.. outside or on an enclosed porch. The sun aids in cats shedding and will allow your kitty to completely loose the summer or winter fir and make you a whole lot happier. If your kitty is long haired this is very important. Also, stop brushing your cat except for maybe one or two times a month. Let the cat do their own grooming. A little bit of vaseline on the underside of a front paw will push that hair ball right on through and will help your kitty to process that fur. I only brush my long hair cat during the end of winter simply because it aids in the shedding process I did my shorthair the same way..they love it! I brushed them outside as well and let the wind deal with the fur.

As others have said, the vacuum with the attachments is definitely the way to go. I have a lot of black outfits, and I know how irritating it can be to put on a shirt or sit on a couch and hwen you get up you look like a furball. Lint rollers are a HUGE help, and if you dont have one, use pieces of tape to pick up the unwanted hair on clothes. As far as your furniture.....maybe try buying a couch cover, and take it off once or twice a week and shake it off, so the cats aren't actually shedding on your furniture but on the cover?

Brushing can help, but it does not necessarily remove all of the hair that they have shed. A comb will sometimes do that, but you should look into purchasing a pet vacuum cleaner, which will also help. Next time you get cats, if you decide to, get shorthairs. There are many adorable shorthair cats at animal shelters. I have never had a problem with shedding in my house, as my cats are all shorthairs.

I brush two cats once a week and it does help. I also had to purchase a good vacuum cleaner with an upholstery attachment and use it every 3 or 4 days. You can also take a wet towel and wipe your cat with it. This will catch a lot of loose hairs. If they aren't cleaning themselves enough they may be having a difficult time passing hairballs. Give them some Vaseline to eat - mine eat a lot of it.

Brush her on a daily basis. once you puppy her, run your hands over her fur, getting the free hairs off. keep a dustbuster reachable to pass round vaccing up hair, and a lint roller for the furnishings. this is about all you may want to do, short of having her shaved, and that i imagine this is painful for cats. Their fur is gentle. I have an indoor, lengthy-haired cat and she or he sheds a huge volume. If I ever get yet another cat, it will be short-haired or bald.

Long haired cats naturally shed. Just need to keep up on picking up after them. Lint brushes or lint rollers are a big help.

Theres this brush that would pick up all the dead hair that would be best for your cat. Just keep brushing your cat and eventually the problem should solve. But I'd bring your cat to a vet and get advice from him/her.

you can get them groomed professionally that will cut down on the shedding, they can even shave them for you if they are shedding heavily, i shave about 10 short hair cats, whose owners can handle the hair, but just a professional bath and brush every 3 months or so helps alot
