I have two cats and I have been living alone. Im going to get a roomate and Im not sure how my two cats will react. When someone comes over now, they hide and one of them gets pissed off and hisses at everyone. Do cats get used to new people?

I have two cats they are brothers at 18 weeks old. Both of them are on medications for a "kitty cold" The bigger of the two started out eating fine but now he has stopped eating. He drinks plenty of water through out the day and I cannot say that he has not eaten anything but I have not seen him eat in 24 hours. I have tried dry and wet kitten food but he shows no interest in eating. He does not take his medication very well so I am not sure if force feeding him is an option? Should I be worried? Should I take him back to the vet or does anyone know of any tricks to get him to eat? Thanks for an and all adivice it is greatly appreciated.

One of my cats goes crazy if I give her a black olive to play with.

It started when I accidentally dropped one once. None of my other 3 cats take any notice but she acts as if it contains the strongest cat nip in the world! She rolls around on it and kicks her legs in the air and bats it round. Why?

Hello I’m in the UK and I’m getting my female kitten neutered. I was hoping any cat owners could give me advice on after care, I know the vet will give me some but nobody knows cats better than the people who own or are owned by them. Any ideas on what to expect? And I have two older cats and 8-year old female and a 15 year-old tom who thinks the kitten is his baby, what shall I do with them when we get home?

Also how long will the op take? I’m just a bit nervous as she’s my first kitten (my baby) and I’ve always had older cats that have already been done.

Thanks for your help.

A friend of mine brought her kitten into the vet, because someone stepped on him. There didnt seem to be any serious harm done, but he was breathing a little hard. The vet said that he was in shock, and would keep him overnight for observation. He gave him two shots, of darvanx? or something that sounds like that. My friend didn't have the money to pay the vet, at the time (didn't plan for an emergency visit). So the vet kept the cat for a week. Saturday morning she picked up the kitten. His stomach was grossly distended, like he had worms, but the vet said that he wormed him. He didnt comment on what could have caused the cat's stomach to be distended like that. He gave the kitten a clean bill of health. Sunday morning, he had died in his sleep. The vet says that the kitten probably just had a heartattack, and takes absolutely no responsibility in the kittens death. Why would he have released him if there was probelm? What can we do? Can the vet be held responsible?

I have a 5 month old kitten, and I worry about high ash content. He likes both wet and dry foods. I don't mind spending a little more, but I don't want to break the bank. He is healthy, and I want to keep him that way!!! A suggestion for foods that are available in supermarkets would be great, but I will make a special trip to the pet store if necessary. Also, are those cat treats good for cats?

For some reason she hates me. All I ever did to her was whap her on the nose sometimes when she was a kitten, and she's about three years old now. I'll be petting her and she'll be melting in to the couch and purring, and then all of a sudden she'll stop and try to bite my hands off.

Sometimes she'll stay on my lap for a second but rarely. She loves everyone else in the family. She's my cat, too.

What can I do besides feed her?

My 3 month old kitten jumped on my old Rottie's hip's last Sat. And she has very bad arthritis. She was sleeping and didn't know what happened and she snapped getting my kitten in the head. We rushed her to the vet. They treated her and sent her home. Monday she was back in due to infection in her nose. If they can't smell they won't eat. They have her on the road to recovery, but sent her home yesterday. I'm getting her to eat but she still won't drink. Probably because she can't smell it. Can anyone give me some suggestion's on how to get her to drink? They knew she wasn't drinking when they sent her home. I don't want to see her backslide. Your time and help is greatly appreciated. And thank you.

At night, my cat Flop spends several minutes just digging, and pawing through his litter. Its loud and wakes me up often, I yell for him to quiet down and he runs away for a minute before returning and pawing through it again. Hes not using it just pawing through it. Is the trying to get my attention about something, or just trying to keep himself entertained while I sleep, and how do I stop it!

I bought 3 and he found them and he'll play with them for hours on end, which is unlike him because he isn't particually playful. I figured this was better then his old obsession with finding elastic bands or hairbands and playing with them because if he swallowed them he would choke or it would get caught in his stomach, we used to take them away from him but he would always find more when he went outside. These UV bracelets are way to big to choke on and he loves them, but do they have anything in which could hurt him?

i have a 10 month old kitten, ive had him since august...he's a wonderful cat, he's also half siamese, the only problem is he chews on everything! I know he's not teething anymore, but he's constantly chewing on phones, remotes, pens, keys, door knobs, you name it!! Its getting bad, i even bought him a plastic dog bone, he'll chew on it for awhile, but still continues with his bad habit on everything else. What can i do to get him to stop, he chewed my boyfriend's glasses so bad that he cant see out of them anymore...please help
