I think it's traumatic to kennel cats...they aren't like dogs...they like a quiet warm atmosphere...not all the noise that goes on at a kennel
i leave my cats at home where they are comfortable(they are old) and hire a petsitter, less chance of them contracting a disease from the kennel...they come in once a day check their food dishes and litter boxes....she stays and talks or plays with them for a while .....i know this because my security cameras capture when she comes in and what she does and when she leaves...so i know i am getting my monies worth....she is very reasonable she charges me $15 a day or $100 a week to come in, that's less than what i would pay a kennel to board 3 cats($45 a day)...they'd be trapped in a cage all the time

Irish---for the $$$, what else? (Sorry, my laptop does not have a Euro key.) Vaccinations are any vet's bread and butter. A ordinary British vet, Dr. Michael Fox, often suggested that pets are over-vaccinated. right here interior the U.S., some vets provide the rabies shot each year; some provide it in basic terms each 3 years, so it is obvious that there is a few conflict of words there. I definitely have numerous kitties, and while they attain the age of ten, I end having them vaccinated for leukemia, FIP, and so on.: they rather might desire to have outfitted up immunity to those ailments in ten years. I proceed in basic terms with the rabies, interior the not likely adventure that considered one of my bushy childrens could chomp somebody. criminal stuff. Sarah, the British Isles ARE rabies-unfastened, that's why for some years animals being offered to those countries needed to be quarantined for many months. it is my be attentive to-how that now an animal could be transported there with vet documents showing that the rabies vaccination has been administered.

I'm no expert but, as long as the cats are left with someone they are comfortable with, and someone who sincerely takes care of them, they are totally fine staying with people close to you.I'm saying this from personal experience.

Many more people are hiring a pet sitter to take care of their pets while they are away.
If your friend is happy to do it for you, why not! Otherwise hire a pet sitter to do it.

Leaving your cats at home helps them feel more comfortable than to take them somewhere else. Less stress on them.
You can find pet sitters at: www.petsitusa.com or www.petsit.com
